This site explores the dangers posed by Dihydrogen Monoxide.

DHMO.ORG (http://www.dhmo.org/)

Chemists amongst you, or even those who were paying attention in Science, will know what this is: others will find out after a while... :D

Hah! I love that thing. A teacher of mine showed it to my class in seventh grade when the class was doing a unit on propaganda and the power of persuasion. I admit I did believe it at first, though I was the first one in my class to figure it out.

A California community almost passed a law banning it based on this and similar websites:

Um, there's a site existing to obviate this problem: BugMeNot.

If you bookmark it somewhere you can easily get to it ( eg: at the top ), you can open it in a new window, or new tab ( it may exist as an extension in Firefox ), you paste the url of the article you wish to look at ( after opening that page and been confronted with the demand to register ), and, if it's on their list it gives you a name & password to type into the registration page.

BugMeNot (http://bugmenot.com/)

You may wish to stick this somewhere for everyone to know...

hehe, I got the Dihydrogen Monoxide thing instantly - I paid attention in my Chemistry classes, and this had me chuckling - both at the satire, and at the gullibility some people exibit. But then I'm English.

Words are inefficient to describe this site. Or did I just contradict myself?

I had a science teacher in the 7th grade that had a can of Dehydrated Water.

That right there is why I don't like living in California.
