View Full Version : Gmail and Thunderbird arghhh

So...I found this program that acts like a pop3 server for gmail.(email2pop) I registered it and to my amazment it actually worked (with outlook).

Ahhh, it works with Outlook, all I have to do is use the same settings for Thunderbird..right?

Do you have the WWW services running on your machine? The proxy apparently needs to run on the local web server. Atleast for Thunderbird.

I'm sure that it's using my computer as it's own POP3 host. (conclusion = 127.0.0.1)

Besides that, I have no idea how it works.

Could it be because gmail runs on a secure connection?

Side note... some places (like schools) block the email sections of sites like Yahoo and MSN... but, oddly enough, gmail still gets through because it's secure. Hmm.

Default 110. Set same as Outlook. Tried 25 and 111 as well.
