Hope everyone enjoyed my clever l'il subject heading there. ;)

Anyway, HELLO! :hello:

I can't believe I haven't discovered this forum sooner. I have been obsessed with the MBTI ever since I first discovered it about six years ago.

Well, me in a nutshell:

I am one of those elusive female INTPs. I am 28 years old, and live in NYC. The only other INTP in my life is my dad.

Currently I work in the entertainment industry, in a job that primarily consists of copywriting and websurfing. It's all well and good, but I am looking to make a change, and soon. (You all should brace yourself for my impending pleas for career advice.)

I am interested in what seems like a million different things, which include, music, movies, literature -- hell, all the arts -- pop culture, religion, politics, medicine. Plus regionalism, progressivism, environmentalism, and likely dozens more isms (and a bunch of "ologies," too.) Basically, I love learning about, thinking about, and talking about a seemingly endless supply of topics, but then again, you all know that. B)

I enjoy dishing out logical advice. I love to jump into a good debate, and will I happily jump out...eh, whenever. I hate talking about my feelings. I am a stickler for accuracy, and can nit-pick my way out of a locked trunk. You know, typical INTP.

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed reading a bit about me, and I hope to enjoy posting with my fellow "thinkers." :)

I was certainly entertained! Nice work...good "first impression."

Heh, I wonder how many of us would've recognized the hidden meaning behind your heading without the asterisks.

I considered leaving them out, then changed my mind.

Hey spirilis, I "know" you from LiveJournal! In fact, we just the other day had a little chat in the NT community. ;)

Welcome, nice introduction.
I too have a wide variety of interests, my greatest frustration is having to work and not
be able to concentrate more on what really interests me.

Law school is fun.

Yeah - get it right. These are not the droids you are looking for.

Besides, what was wrong with law school? You got to read all the time, learn new things. Granted, most of the people in law school are tools, but you don't HAVE to socialize with them.

I know, but there is never a Sith mind trick referred to in the movies. I assume Vader has it because he used to be a Jedi. He wouldn't just forget it because it is so useful.

Yeah, it's a blog. It's OK. I am always meaning to post in it more, but you know how it goes. Heh. I mainly use to keep up with the lives of my friends who are on it, and to lurk in communities dedicated to whatever topic I am currently curious about at any given moment.

Back to the law school thing for a sec. So let's say law school is fun. When it's over, you have to...um...practice law. I don't think I'd be up for that. I don't think the law is interesting enough to me.

Yeah, that is the curse of the INTP. You don't have to practice law at a firm. You can always go work for some business and use it there.

My uncle works in insurance (not the most exciting, I know) and he went to law school, but never passed the bar. I'm not sure if he ever took it.

Oh, but that sounds even worse somehow.

Sorry...I am not trying to rain on your law-school-attending parade.

I would go hole away in grad school for 5 years except I am too much of an intellectual dabbler. I have a good amount of interest in and knowledge of soooo many things, but no single-minded focus on just one.

I have career-change plan in the middle stages of development (whatever that means) but I may save that for another post. Or...I may just come out with it in a few minutes. Decisions, decisions. :)

Practicing the law isn't very fun for me, hence the sour attitude. I don't want to adversely influence anyone based on my experience alone. For as many people as go into the profession and hate it, there is a person who loves it so much they refuse to completely retire. If you're thinking about it, do a lot of research and try to get a feel of what it is like to actually practice from other attorneys.

Welcome, Flinchy!

I changed jobs and wandered a lot until I fell into working for a big company that was dominated by thinkers and introverts. I've logged 7 years in so far, and my experiences, job titles, working environments, and responsibilities have changed quite a bit in that time. It's been lots of fun, and I wouldn't have made it this long otherwise.

Not trying to brag, just offering career possibilities while considering my own again...

Oh, and Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker was originally a Jedi. So you are both technically wrong/right depending on the time frame.

... and welcome to the forum! :D
