Ah - one of those "loser lit" books. I've always meant to read that.
Loser Lit:
Instead of conforming to expectations and living up to his potential, the loser screws up, gets drunk, can't seem to get it together with the right woman, makes a mess of his home life (if he has a home) and courts failure at every turn. Having no more discernible target than "the way things are" -- which oppresses him and drives him up the wall, even if he can't do anything about it -- his urge for rebellion festers in the crucible of his self-consciousness, where it mutates eventually into an incurable jones to shoot himself in the foot.

Sounds like the potential pitfall for most INTPs.

I read the fuck-up a little while ago... not the best book ever, but not the worst.
I could probably make a thousand recommendations, but I'll just stick with this pretty good book I'm reading right now- Thinner than Thou by Kit Reed.

I didn't find it very well written at all.

I think certain books exist only to give people hope that one day, they too may publish a mediocre novel.
I think I bought this book only because I thought it had the perfect book shape to it. I guess that whole don't judge a book thing actually has a bit of a point to it.

I like the title of the book and you're right, it does have a cool shape.
