Okay, who's in? I'll be available sometime in June.

12 views and no replies? No Ontarians?
Toronto was the most logical place last time, but there are other options ya know.

Hubby wants to go some where for vacation.
Ontario is beautiful, but I have only seen the Western edge from International Falls west towards Manitoba.
Could some Yankee nuts from down South crash the Ontario meetup?

I would go - but a scheduling conflict is upon me (I am booked through the summer - longer if I get laid off.).

Rivercrow: of course. That's fine.
Naturally, Toronto is nothing like Ontario near the Manitoba border. It's a metropolitan area.

Hmm, I'm in the north eastern midwest :), not far from canada at all and I remember liking toronto when I was there last, plus I like road trips.
I'd consider it.
I always get searched at the effing border though, so someone else is going to have to bring the drugs.

I think you all should rent a little Muskoka cottage under assumed names and party Animal House style.
"Here's your key Mr. Loman, and remember NO PARTIES". *Louie Louie intro plays*

That would actually rule. So who's paying? I'm broke. (Toronto will be fine, I think.)
For those of you who might want to come in via Detroit, you only have to come as far as London, if you'd prefer. You can ride with Mrs. Loman and myself for the rest of the way.

Yeah, I know. :) I'm in Charlotte, NC. It's rather built-up as well.
In 2000, we went back to mom's hometown, Grandview, and spent a few days in Winnipeg as well. Really enjoyed it. I'd like to see more of Canada. Most of mom's living relatives are in BC, both coastal and interior, but the central/eastern provinces seem more accessible.
We used to spend 2 weeks every summer in Grandview. I understand that area is considered the Wild West by Toronto residents. ;)

Hah! Your mom is from Grandview? I grew up south of Dauphin on the north edge of Riding Mountain.

Yup, been through there! Every year for 15 years, up from Winnipeg to Brandon/Portage La Prairie, Riding Mountain, Dauphin, to Grandview. Do you recall the shopping center in Dauphin with the live monkeys?
The only time we ever saw anything other than mosquitoes in RM was that trip in 2000. Saw a coyote, a black bear, and a moose.

Not to be rational, but an INTP meetup might be worthwhile if a task were involved, like a mountainous hike lasting a whole weekend. Surely wouldn't cost that much, and there's nothing like an adventure.

I like the way you think, Zedo. Geez, you really are just like my one INTP friend, an aerospace engineering PhD student in Toronto, but he's too polite (and busy) to join your underworld. . .

I'll second that e-motion.
I'm still willing, especially if it's in Toronto. Been stupidly busy the last little while, but June should be better.

Just going to Toronto would be an adventure for us. We're homebodies and we could be tourists!

Yeah, so, can we generate a definitive list of who'd like to come? And possibly brainstorm fun activities? Just sitting around and drinking counts as ok in my book, but other options are probably viable.
If shaytana comes, we could ban a bunch of members or something, then sort out the shitstorm the next day. ;)

Twin Citeis -> Madison -> Chicago -> Detroit -> London ->Toronto
Hrm... that would be a fun road trip. Especially driving all the way from Chicago to London because their aint no fucking way I'm stopping in Detroit. Maybe next year

Ok: so far we have
1. shaytana
2. Pan
3. myself
Naturally, my wife would come. Is anyone else in, or is this good enough? Are any Americans seriously thinking of coming?

Oh. It's not necessarily impolite. People think that's what it's for: can be, doesn't have to be. It's supposed to be better than this.
