When I first saw this post I thought you had misspelt and meant "not" instead of "nog". As in "I bought eggs not 2 days ago from a store and...

they are already rotten
they've hatched

Someone else think of some more consequences.

I opened my fridge this morning and there was a carton of egg nog. My dad must have bought it at Wal*mart last night.

Sure... it's "eggnog"

Just kidding. I like your avatar btw. I want that picture (the kitty with the chopped off arm)

For my avatar I just looked up killer cats on google images. I saw the sniper kitten, that someone had as an avatar. It was so cute!

I don't really like egg nog.
Break the word down.
"Egg", meaning egg, and "Nog", meaning the sound you make after you drink too much eggnog.

Have it all year long!

Creamy Egg Nog

1 dozen eggs, separated
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/4 cups sugar
2 cups bourbon (optional. Use more or less if desired)
1/2 cup rum (optional. Use more or less if desired)
1 quart milk (add another pint of milk if not using liquor)
2 Tbl vanilla
3 pints heavy cream
Nutmeg

Beat together the egg yolks and salt in a large mixing bowl, slowly adding 1 1/2 cups of the sugar. Continue beating until tick and pale. Stir in the bourbon, rum, milk and vanilla until well mixed. Beat the egg whites until foamy and slowly add the remaining 3/4 cup sugar, continuing to beat until stiff(tee-hee) and all the sugar has been incorporated. Whip the cream until stiff. Now fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture and then fold in the whipped cream. Taste and add more bourbon and/or sugar if necessary. Pour into a punch bowl and sprinkle with nutmeg. The punch bowl can be sitting in a bed of ice to help keep chilled.

I never had egg nog. I don't care to either. Here's to not trying new things!

Egg Nog, yum. Though, I've taken to getting the "lite" version. I drink it without the alcohol factor most often...

I picked some up at the store last week, too. It was labeled "Halloween Egg Nog," though it had no discernable features other than a pumpkin on the label.

Arioch, it goes

A spoon full of suger makes the medicine go down.
A spoon full of judging make the reality go down, would be better in my opinion.

We should not be happy about this! It's a ploy by merchants to move up the holiday shopping season. BEFORE HALLOWEEN, BEFORE HALLOWEEN!!! Listen, if we don't put our foot (feet?) down now, we'll be seeing tree lights out on Labor Day Weekend.

Two weeks ago, middle of October, I'm in the store and some lady is walking around carrying cheese samples to give to people. Not like a stand to get people to try some new brand, but she was walking around with red elf cap and red & green tipped toothpicks. Enough's enough!

btw, there's no leeway when it comes to freshness in eggnog. I had some last year, after Thanksgiving, thank you very much, that had an expiration date of the 11th. I had some the afternoon of the 11th. It was like needles in my belly.

I've learned to live with the holiday displays 2.5 months early in the stores (or 4 months early if you count Hallmark), but just drove by a big place on the highway this week that has just put up its Christmas light extravaganza. That, I thought a bit much.

I don't like the Holiday Season.

Can we just skip to my Jan. 2nd hangover and be done with it?!?!

Hell, skipping to St Patties would be find with me too.

Why not? Trying new things is what makes life bearable. I love trying new things.Just aslong as you dont try something stupid.

Usually true, but there are some exceptions...

Would you eat Balut?

at that url they say it's better if you've had some alcohol first because of the protein.. so.. I think I'd wait for the alcohol to kick in..

No, but I mean if you never try anything new, life would not be as interesting.

Eck, Christmas... whatever happened to good ol' Winter Solstice? For December, why don't we ditch the rest of the ingredients and just drink the Bourbon until all of the elves go away?
