Hmmm... Vagabond is finally hitting 1000... but she already has a name... Clav should start this off with a few ideas...

The Archaic Jacobite

It is not a brutal name, but why do they have to be brutal anyway?

Just so long as it's got Freikorps somewhere about.

I love those guys: saved civilisation, for all of five years.

Claverhouse

Jacobite's fine.

Claverhouse by any other name would smell (er, type?) as sweet

How did they save civilisation, if only for a limited time (wonders wether the comment was sarcastic in some way)?

They prevented a communist revolution in Germany after WWI and fought in the Baltic states to keep the Soviets out. Then again, they were a breeding ground for future Nazis.

We should have at least a week to think about names.

And then perhaps a week to get around to posting them :D

Anyone know any Tom Waits songs we could lift? Or who would be the opposite? Nicknames should almost be despised by the one being named at first, partially for pointing out something that you're not particularily keen about. But then you learn to embrace it because when people joke about it you realize they accept you even with all of your faults.

How about "The Diffident Bourgeoisie."

Well, "Bourgeois" is singular, but "Bourgeoisie" sounds better. :nerd:

Perhaps "The Bloody Bureaucrat."

"Faults ? But the emperor has no faults."

I just can't find any copy of Kai Lung Unrolls His Mat to quote exactly, but the gist is there...

No, I'm a royalist therefore I could never be a ruler.

And since I periodically plan to massacre the bourgeoisie --- smug and hard-working though they are, it teaches them that there's more to life than material things...

That's why The Bloody Bourgeois(ie?) would be so fitting. It's a double-meaning.

My theory is that you are indeed a closet bourgeois.

 OK, maybe not as good as divine right monarchist but that's pretty good.

Don't look now but you're sounding more like George Dubya every day.

[ Sigh ]

You haven't seen my closet. I can't even get to most of the front, let alone the back. Accumulation of items is definitely good, but not easy to sort out, even if I ever feel up to it. Which, seeing as there's always a tomorrow *, I don't.

My more bourgeois relations would have it all in a tip by night-fall.

* Obviously this is a limited time-offer.
