View Full Version : One slightly used INTJ saying Hello

Hello all,
A friend of mine referred me to this board a couple of weeks ago. I must say I have found it interesting and enjoyable to read. Unfortunately the introvert in me has held me back from posting to the board until now. I have taken several different personality test and every last one of them say that I am an INTJ that is not even close to being a P. So what does that mean? It means I am anal at times but open to suggestion and ideas. I have noticed that if you mention being a J on this board or even leaning toward being a J, that some immediate intervention seems necessary to pull you from the J side. So, I hope you all can accept an INTJ onto your board because whether you're ready or not, I am here! :D
As I stated earlier my friend (co-worker) introduced me to this board. He is definitely an INTP. I know this because I see his desk everyday (or what resembles a desk). I am in the IT profession as well. Yes I know another one on the board! ;P A little about me, I am married to the most opposite person I could find. My rational self was trying to find a balance. He is extroverted non-thinking and definitely not a J. However even with all of those faults he has helped me out of my "shell" so to speak.
I look forward to having stimulating discussions with you and maybe even convert you to the J side.

I'm usually hoping it's a non-intp introducing themselves. Variety is good.

Thanks for the welcome.
I am a applications developer/dba. I have 3 kids and their personality types range greatly. My oldest son I tend to believe is an INTP. My daughter probably is ENFP and my youngest son is definately and INT and I think he will be a J but it is still to early to tell.
As for what I would like to do in the next 10 years, I would like to get into more of the management and decision making of the IT field that I am in. Other ambitions, try and take over the world of course, in an introverted sort of way!

Good ava. I loved that show.
Hi.
Btw... you don't have to answer, but tell that person that referred you to speak up and introduce you or something... I have an idea on who it is, but it's their business.

 That must be a true INTJ speaking - "I hope you like this, because I'm going to do it anyway"...
:hello:
Of course you are welcome. Discussions are bound to get more interesting with more perspectives. And we may indeed need to learn some J tricks to get some order in our lives! :D

Hmm.. I'm amused by this new personality on the threads and would like to see her in the irc chatroom sometime.
I like Pinky and the Brain. I remember in highschool I was alternatively one then the other.

Keekle! - That was for FC...
I knew she was grazing the message boards, but didn't know she posted until I just got her im's.
I am actually in the office right now. Was driving by, figured I could knock out task real quick. Came in to find the damned fire alarms going off and I can't concentrate!
Going to smoke and wait for building maintenence, will follow up later.

Both J's and P's are very important each for discussion, as P's generally bring up more ideas and objections but J's keep the discussion on track and act as a better filter.
The more J's around the better =). Unless they are SJ's =(.

Compared to me, just about everyone seems like a J.

Introversion is one of the most precious gifts known, but it's usually better not to continue a task when the building's on fire.
Gets in the way of the firemen.

Shizen!
Bad German... Kill me...
My intution knew it was nothing but a faulty circuit. But, that property manager dude reinforced me perception of the situation after ripping the alarm off the wall.
Do we really need those people to prove us right?

I know it's wrong, but everytime the alarm went off in the hostel where I briefly worked ( set off mostly by cigarettes or cooking smoke etc. ), the first thing I did was switch off the sound before I went looking. O/W I couldn't think...

Is... ignoring absurd, screaming, wailing sounds an INTP trait, or is it just us? Over-dramatics does not excite me. I would prefer my phone ringing and hearing a message that says "A sensor has picked up unusual temperature changes in zone 301" or something. Then it would be fun! "Where is zone 301?". Hmmmm... that would get my attention. I am more annoyed than excited by such things.

That's who I thought it was... you'd said something earlier about showing your coworker something on here... and I thought she might have joined.
