OK, I'm Enneagram Type One. It seems like a rare type and I don't think I've met any perfectionists like myself. Is anyone here an Enneagram Type One and/or do you think you know anyone who belongs to this type?

Uhh, I am confuzzled. Am I being ushered out? Is it because I am INFJ? Are there Ones at NCentral? Am I not worthy of a response? Gosh, I've been LINKED"D.

Ah, all right. I've already stumbled upon that list of famous Ones. I didn't think Ones were common among INTP's. I was more or less inquiring if any of you knew any Ones personally and what your experience(s) with them have been like.

I had a former roommate who was INTJ / One. It was fun for what it was. He had a huge collection of video games and DVDs that he kept meticulously arranged on the shelves. His own room was always fastidiously neat, partly because he had asthma, partly just because he likes things organized. I got to watch a lot of DVDs. He has a very strong J side. Not one to back down from a confrontation.
My archetype of an Enneagram One is Javert from "Les Miserables." Javert is ISTJ. I never thought of INFJ as going with One but I guess it kind of makes sense. The key thing about a One is that when they're unhealthy they use moral righteousness and/or hypocrisy - "I'm better than you because I hold myself to standards of perfection and you don't."

I find that some enneagram types invariably relate to some specific MBTI dimensions. Type One is basically linked to J, such as any strong J will by definition identify him/herself with some parts of the description.
I know many Type One's. They are not especially rare. When healthy they are great because they are reliable and you can look to them for a job well done. They are also much more principled and fairer than other types. However, when average to unhealthy, they can be very boring, pedantic and anal about everything - never knowing when to have fun and let go.
