I need to write down some problems i have in the hope of finding a solution myself or from the people reading this.

Man, the last weeks have been so fucked up. I have had alot of free days from uni and i haven't done much study work. I only have 4 subjects to study and one of them is chemistry. Its fucking hard, we(intp's) are supposed to love this shit? I hate it. I never had a decent edjucation in chemistry. It is so much, it's like i have to study in 2 months what is normaly learned in 2years. And on top of it I haven't looked at the other subject because my mind is to buzy trying to figure out what to do with chemistry.
During these free days i kept myself buzzy watching movies and trying to get my intrest back for some subjects i realy loved some years ago. Surfing the internet, rechecking forums way to much in the hope of stumbling on to something that catches my intrest.
I am looking for things to do so i don't have to think about failing chemistry, How fucked up is that?

I could force myself to study but i know that will fail after some time.
I could try and look for the intresting site of chemistry, what can i do with it and what does it add to my life?
I could quit uni, but i love the atmosphere there, the freedome you get is awsome. If you don't show up its your probleme, i hated the early years of school. Everybody always trying to control you, bah makes me sick thinking about it.
I could see a some profesional help, but deep down i do not want to do that. I am not crazy (or am i? :) )

Man o man, what should i Do?

I can really relate to how you feel. I am supposed to be studying for a test right now that I keep having nightmares about failing and yet here I am, on the net instead of studying. I even took the day off of work to try to get this junk finished and I haven't even pulled the books out yet. Eventually I know that I'll just have to force myself to sit down and study, but I realize that I'll get bored and walk away. But if I can force myself to study for an hour or so, go for walk, exercise, chill out etc., and then study again for an hour or so, at least I'm getting some quality study time before the test tonight.

I could quit uni, but i love the atmosphere there,... There is no need to go that far. You could just switch to a subject area to study that does not require chemistry. There's lots of them.

Study at the library, just make yourself take your books, snacks and backpack every day, and try to sit in one of those study cubbies for 3-4 hours a day. The quiet and lack of distractions really helps.

Also, find the tutorial center for subjects that are extra hard, or talk to the teacher and tell them you are having a hard time, and need some help. Or, some ask if there are tutors available or any extra tips that would help you. Teachers usually love to talk to students in their office. Just call them and ask for help.

If its a subject you really don't like, try to finish the class even if you don't think you will make it. At least you can know whats on the test and if you have to take the class again, you will have the advantage of knowing whats on the tests. Don't worry if you fail one class, it happens. But try to do well in at least two of the classes and catch up so your Gpa doesn't get affected too much. The courses with more units will affect gpa more.

After posting this thread i searched the archives for some info, seems like there has been a long thread about studying:
http://www.intpcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=510&highlight=study

Basicly it all comes down to the same thing.

We are fucked :p

At the start of the year i knew i would need to trow out my pc in order to get some quality study time. So i did ... and i bought a laptop :)
The thing about the libary seems like a good idea to me. I just need to get to some isolated place and do my study work.
I will give that a try the comming weeks

All other feedback is welcome ofcourse. I just know this place is full of people having the same probleme, so there have to be some guys who got the job done.
Would be great to hear you guys also.

studying does not help me because i am incapable of memorization which is needed for communication in chemistry

The tutoring option can sometimes be helpful. Try to be patience with yourself and not give up everything just to get out of taking chemistry. It will be hard, but if you can pull through it, at least it will be over and you won't have it hanging over your head, or the "what if's" if you change your major and the impacts on a future career.

For me, I have a problem with memorization too - which really sucked when I had to struggle through human anatomy. But I worked just a little at a time and gave myself lots of timed breaks (study for an hour and then allow myself 30 minutes on the computer, etc.) It never got easy and I never liked it but I got through it and now it's over with. Hopefully chemistry will work the same for you. Good luck!

That could as well've been written by me (minus the nightmares part).
