Your score = 75

What do your results mean?
According to your score you often fill the role of Thinker in a group. You take ideas (or the beginnings of ideas) and make them realistic and doable. You also appear to have a talent for analysis and problem solving.

Description of the role
Thinkers are the individuals who not only have ideas but also have reasonable and practical ones. Thinkers analyze situations and requirements and come up with realistic solutions. Disciplined, reliable and efficient in their approach, Thinkers excel at turning ideas into practical solutions. Thinkers prefer to be innovative over inventive, they see possibilities and can put a realistic slant on a clever idea that may have seemed too far out to implement. Thinkers are analytical and objective. Because Thinkers are expert analysts, they see potential problems and are able to anticipate difficulties before they arise. They also feel compelled to assume various viewpoints when evaluating possibilities and opportunities. They enjoy a work environment that stimulates and challenges their intellectual curiosity. Good strategists, Thinkers prefer solutions that are supported by in-depth analysis.

Strengths of the Role
Thinkers are very useful members of any team because of their realistic, practical approach to problem solving, brainstorming, and decision-making. Thinkers add a down-to-earth perspective when forming their plans and ideas, which keeps strategies in the realm of possibility for their team members!

Weaknesses of the Role
Thinkers can simply be too down-to-earth. They may reject wild ideas or tone them down before it is clear whether or not they will work as proposed. Thinkers also tend to be detail-oriented which can slow down the progress in a group.

Go Getter
Score = 96

What do your results mean?
According to your score you are an eager Go Getter when part of a group. This means that you have the drive to complete tasks and are not easily distracted from your goals. Your motto: "Actions speak louder than words!"

Description of the role
The Go Getter in a group is the person who wants to "get on with it". They have clear focus and are not easily distracted from the task at hand. These individuals always want to move forward and delays can be extremely frustrating for them. People who fulfill the role of the Go Getter are those with their eyes firmly set on the finish line. In fact, working toward a worthy purpose is one of their major motivators. They don't get easily sidetracked and tend to systematically and relentlessly work through all the tasks. Everything they do is focused on completing the task or project they've been assigned. They tend to have a keen sense of right and wrong and strong personal values. Go Getters are typically loyal individuals with rather conservative attitudes. They are disciplined, reliable and efficient. These are the people who turn ideas into practical solutions and do everything they can to execute them.

Strengths of the Role
Go Getters are the fuel of the team. They get the project moving and don't waste time dragging their feet. They understand that deadlines are NOT just a recommendation and work towards the completion of tasks with all of their energy. Go Getters also have an uncanny ability to see the simplest way to move forward. They are good at prioritizing and have a knack for identifying the most important issues or tasks.

Weaknesses of the Role
Because of their passionate desire to move forward, Go Getters may lack patience. They may not be very open to new ideas especially when presented part way through a project. A lack of action and a slow decision making process are stressful for Go Getters. To avoid what they consider unnecessary delays, Go Getters may want to steer their teams away from essential group discussions and brainstorming. Some Go Getters tend to jump in with both feet before fully assessing a project or idea. Go Getters may also be perceived as bossy - they want everyone to start working and can cause some hard feelings between team members with their insistence on "getting moving".

Your score = 87

What do your results mean?
According to your score, you are a natural Brainstormer. This means that you use your imagination without restriction. Once you get going, new ideas keep popping into your head effortlessly. You can be fairly creative and truly enjoy the process of uninhibited thought.

Description of the role
The Brainstormers are known for their extremely creative side and are considered the "ideas" people in any group. Brainstormers think outside of the box and don't let reality get in the way of their ideas; they love change and are always looking for a newer and better ways to get things done. They thrive on challenge, enjoy complexity, and like to conduct research. Brainstormers tend to have BIG plans; they don't take the easy route for anything. For them, a new concept is something to be developed, not placed on the shelf for later! However, on their own, Brainstormers can be hard-pressed to come up with a realistic plan of action. This is because Brainstormers are unrestricted by reality; they don't accept constraints that make sense to most other individuals, and their only limit is their own imagination!

Strengths of the Role
The strength of Brainstormers comes directly from their imagination. The ideas provided by the Brainstormer give group members the ammunition to come up with brilliant plans and strategies that likely would never have been envisioned without the Brainstormer's input. Brainstormers are apt to solve difficult and complex problems. They are also powerful members of a group because they are not controlled by normal practices; they do not feel they have to keep their ideas in the realm of past successes but instead look for new ways to achieve the same end.

Weaknesses of the Role
Brainstormers can become disruptive to a group when they continue to throw out new ideas even after the decision has been made to follow a specific plan. They can cause a loss of focus by continually trying to change plans that have been set or have already been started on. This behavior can become frustrating to team members, especially those who are goal-oriented, want to move forward and complete the task at hand using the current plan or idea.

What do your results mean?
According to your score you can fulfill the role of Questioner in a group. You like to question things before making any kind of commitment or agreement but do not always do so.

Description of the role
Questioners do just what their name insinuates, they ask QUESTIONS. They want to understand the reasoning behind ideas and plans. Questioners enjoy working on prototypes and experimenting. They don't automatically follow the rest of the crowd and need to figure out for themselves if something will work or not. Questioners are generally skeptical and require time to digest information. "Black-hat thinkers" by nature, Questioners tend to play the devil's advocate and take on alternative perspectives whenever the opportunity arises. Analytical, sober and discerning, they are the objective team members who feel compelled to look at everything from different points of view.

Strengths of the Role
Questioners keep others from heading in a wrong direction. They don't automatically agree with the opinion of the majority without fully evaluating it for themselves first. Questioners will ask the difficult questions that others in the group may ignore. Although this may feel uncomfortable or counterproductive, it is, in fact, an excellent way to bring everyone back to reality if a plan just isn't going to work.

Weaknesses of the Role
Questioners can hold progress back with their skepticism and sometimes unnecessary "black-hat" thinking. Questioners can be disruptive if they start asking questions and criticizing at inappropriate times such as during brainstorming sessions or presentations. They can be irritating to members of the team who want to get started with the work at hand. Questioners may also be perceived as mean or hurtful if their communication and social skills are not up to par. Some people my find it difficult not to take their questions and criticisms personally.

I scored 98 peacemaker, wow. Been acting differently as of lately in groups, even i began to realize how i play mediator so much in between people. Its due to my fear of conflict, and not wanting to see the group fail to something stupid like internal turmoil.

My score was 83, however. Questioner, also -- but, I remain skepical ;) What does this mean?

edit: I apparently scord 63 on "thinker" -- just, better at asking for more, than translating the answers into a means to a physical reality...

Interesting test... can't say it provided much new information for me though.People see me different than I see myself. Most consider me highly self-confident and a go getter when I no where match that personna, internally. I guess the test was refreshing and gives me some perspective as to the role I play on a team.

The link is somewhat broken, and when I fixed it, it just went to the main page and I couldn't find the specific test to which this thread refers. Better link please?

Edit: ok, obviously because this thread is two years old. Just read it because it was suggested by another thread.

Peacemaker
Similar to:

Belbin's Team worker
MTR-I's Coach

Your score = 56

What do your results mean?
According to your score you can fulfill the role of Peacemaker in a group. Although this is not a role you always take on, you will, on occasion, make a sincere effort to reduce or even eradicate conflict within the group.

Description of the role
Peacemakers use their time and effort to create and maintain harmony in the group. Peacemakers are people-oriented and want everyone to be happy. They are concerned with team members' feelings of inclusion and spend a great deal of their energy on ensuring that everyone is comfortable in the group. Peacemakers dislike conflict; they are very diplomatic and go out of their way to prevent disputes, arguments, and harsh words during team meetings. When conflict occurs, Peacemakers make sure that it is handled in a constructive way. Their good communication skills make them professionals at cooling tempers and bringing the group back on an even keel after any emotional explosions. In short, Peacemakers contribute a great deal to a group's positive synergy.

Strengths of the Role
Tasks can be accomplished sooner and more effectively when unnecessary conflict doesn't get in the way. By smoothing over potential clash before it has a chance to rear its head, Peacemakers are a valuable asset to their team. Another positive result of the Peacemaker's efforts is that group members tend to feel very good about the team they work with. Because squabbles can reduce morale, Peacemakers are highly useful in team environments where high spirit and motivation are imperative.

Weaknesses of the Role
Some Peacemakers may hinder the progress of their group by not allowing any conflict. Often, conflict brings about new ideas or offers a new perspective that may never have been brought to light otherwise. By continually squashing disagreements and disputes, Peacemakers may be closing doors on certain ideas and preventing the group from advancing. Also, Peacemakers are uncomfortable with decision-making; they are concerned that any firm decisions or opinions could spark conflict within the group.

Snapshot Report
Fear of Criticism
15

Fear of Criticism is not a concern for you in a group situation. You are able to throw yourself into group work without concern about your ideas and work being rejected, and when you are given negative feedback, you are likely able to take it simply as a part of the group process.
