View Full Version : Will Kerry run Again?

With 45 mil left, I'm willing to bet he will. I heard an interview with one of his campaign advisers earlier today. I don't remember who, I wasn't really paying attention. But it sounded like he's dumb enough to think he can do it. Probably against Jeb or something.

If so, I'm going in for that lobotomy I've been toying with.

Then again, I doubt Big K would make it to the primaries.

I too like salt.

There is no way he will run again. You should only get one swing at that bat. Kerry showed that he does not have what it takes to be president by giving up so early and he doesn't have a chance in hell of winning again.

The party will probably do everything to keep him from running again. Even if he takes a shot at the primaries he will taint the party. He should tuck his tail between his legs and join Gore on the speaking tour.

I think he will run again. He's arrogant and being president is his lifelong ambition. But you're right, there is no way he gets out of the primaries:

--The DNC is livid that Kerry didn't spend his money to help downballot candidates
--The Democratic A-list will be out in force in 2008: Hillary, Richardson, possibly Rendell, Bayh, and perhaps Vilsack, if he gets made DNC chair. This will be in addition to hangers-on like Edwards, Dean, and Lieberman, and fringe candidates like Sharpton and Kuchinich. Barack Obama or Harry Ford might make dry runs to prep for 2012 or 2016. In a crowded field, the only thing Kerry will have is name recognition, which won't get him far in the Iowa Caucuses and New Hampshire Primary with equally well-known yet fresher candidates.
--Kerry had two things going for him this year. He wasn't George Bush (which excited the Democratic base) and he wasn't Howard Dean (which placted the swing voters). George Bush isn't on the ticket in 2008 and Howard Dean has been a punchline since Iowa. Those selling points won't serve him well.
--I think Kerry's Senate term is up in 2008. He may have a re-election fight on his hands, especially given his questionable performace in certain situations this year (like the Swift Boat Vets, the leftover money, etc.) . If that happens, I can't see him making another White House run, unless he plans to retire from the Senate.

Democrats need to seriously revisit their entire approach. There's no way they could be credible with Kerry in '08.

Some one once told me they were going to get me a salt block for Christmas... told them I wouldn't really be able to salt food with it... and they said something about just maul the food with it a bit, and it'll be salty enough.

No, I don't think he'll run again.

Also, I enjoy salt very much.

I think the next poll should be on whether or not INTPs like salt.

Everybody likes salt. It's one of the few tastes we, as humans, can taste without needing the sense of smell. The option is a carrot. A tasty carrot.

Kerry's got too much money leftover to just give it back. I'm willing to bet me makes a try for it, and buries the money on campaign expenses that directly get back to himself (or his affiliates, who will in turn return the favors).

I like salt.

and I hope not. Kerry was weak. Most of the people I know who voted for him only did so because he wasn't Bush.

He'd better not, I want to revoke my indepdent status long enough to vote for Rendell or Kucinich.

He won't use that 45 Mil for another run. That's just gonna be political leverage for him. I expect him to retire, become a boardmember of some shady companies, and travel around giving speeches. Hell, he may even end up pulling a Jimmy Carter and going to Cuba or something.

Bush is the weakest person kerry could have run against, and he didnt win. Theres no way the dems would be stupid enough to put kerry up again... Kerry's ego however, will cause him to try anyway...

With 14 votes, salt is the predicted winner of this thread's election!
I wonder what would happen if the majority of the population were INTPs; would there still be a Demo-Repub dichotomy?
I did not vote because I'm so unpatriotic :p
