Ozone hole stable, say scientists
The Antarctic ozone hole was at its maximum extent in September 2005 (Nasa).
The ozone hole over Antarctica in 2005 was one of the largest
Leading scientists in the United States say the hole in the ozone layer of the Earth's atmosphere above the Antarctic appears to have stopped widening.
The ozone layer blocks the Sun's ultra-violet rays, exposure to which is harmful to humans, animals and plants.
International agreements were reached to end the use of ozone-depleting chemicals called CFCs after the hole was discovered in 1986.
It is hoped the hole may "heal" fully over the next 60 years.

They said it would take 7 to 10 years for the effects of stoping using ozone depleting chemicals to reach the ozone layer...
So it looks like the stopping of the widening is bang on time....
See guys if we do grab the nettle we can solve environmental problems....

Third of China 'hit by acid rain'
Air pollution from a factory in north-eastern China
Local leaders are accused of putting economics before environment
One third of China is suffering from acid rain caused by rapid industrial growth, an official report quoted by the state media says.
Pollution levels have risen and air quality has deteriorated, the report found. This comes despite a pledge by the authorities to clean up the air.
In the latest incident, a reservoir serving 100,000 people in north-west China was polluted by a chemical spill.
China has some of the world's most polluted cities and rivers.
The pollution inspection report to the standing committee of parliament found that 25.5 million tonnes of sulphur dioxide were spewed out, mainly from the country's coal-burning factories last year - up 27% from 2000.

More good news.
Tesco has started using degradable plastic bags.
Not only tesco carriers but also in their packaging.
This means that the plastic will degrade in 4 years time, not in 100 years as previously made.
YEY! GO TESCO!

Do you have a copy of the actual article?
Hydrogen fuel cells can vary in mechanism (and reactants and products of the reaction), so while the article may be relevent to some types of fuel cells, so it does not translate that there is a problem with all Hydrogen fuel cells.
