I am a part of a philosophical discussion group called ERA.
We formed this group some while ago.

Now I started the forum for this group at http://era.greatboard.com yesterday.
People who might be interested in philosophical discussions might think about visiting there.
Overall, its about discussing philosophical thoughts.
Currently I am the only member there.

I gave that site for listing on http://dmoz.org
Anyone with experience, how long will it take to be listed on search engines ?

Well anyone who might be interested in moderating can also PM me.

PS. This is not an advertisement. Nothing to do with commercial products, etc. ERA just a communion just like the , uhmm... err... Vienna Circle ?

Since dmoz is a human edited directory, sites are added whenever the editors feel like it. It can take anywhere from hours to years.

For others like google, they have robots that regularly scan the sites. To be honest, your site doesn't have enough content or unique keywords to get you a listing anywhere near the top of the results anytime soon.

Unfortunately, you'll most likely be stuck with doing most of the promoting yourself until more content is added. Once the board is more active or you have more content on the site, you should have better luck with search engines.

I know you're right, but I have to say that google's method of ranking sites leaves a lot to be desired.
