or do the enneagram types seem like caricatures? To me it's like someone sat down and decided to think of all the people they know, and then base a system around pigeon-holing them, as a pose to MBTI which is more grounded and stems from a belief in the functions thmselves. I am starting to think the whole enneagram thing is a little creepy, they seem very much about getting your money and playing with people's feeling - not to mention that on their official forum you are not allowed to criticise the enneagram. I am starting to think it is more like a cult than anything scientific...

Enneagram.. isn't it developed from esoteric character analysis?
Anyway, it's not as psychologically viable IMHO.

I know that the enneagram institute seems very orientated towards the business side of things, and that the amount of jargon used by people who talk about the enneagram seems vast compared to the fairly straight-forward MBTI conversations I have read.
And by the way, you aint kidding no-one with your disclaimer at the end - I know as well as you that your opinion is far from humble.
