..so here goes. Hi! 8O

!'m 22, living in Finland, speakin English as my second language (so forgive sepelin & grammar etc). I'm possibly starting computer engineering studies next month, although my intuition is telling me it's not something i want to do for living.

due to my heavy I and P I lurked quite a while before registering... and then lurked some more. To hell with it, it's not like I could get physically hurt by posting. (I hope.) (Does the period go in or outside? And the question mark? )

Welcome.

Mostly, people put the periods on the outside. I like the punctuation to be on the inside because its easier to recognise a separate thought when it is.

When the question mark was on the outside of the brackets, its sometimes hard to tell whether the question comes from the (separate thought) or from the sentence before it.

I wouldnt worry about grammar too much, as long as your thoughts are presented coherently then its OK.

Welcome.

The punctuation mark goes inside the parenthesis if it is a stand alone sentence. Otherwise, it goes outside. (Like this.) But if part of a larger sentence, it is outside (like this).

Cute cat.

Give your intuition some attention on what it's telling you.

You "speak" English more coherently than some of the others that have trolled along to this forum, so I don't think there should be any problems. :D That's a scary cat.

Terve!
(At least I think that's "hi" in Finnish...;)) Welcome to the forums!

Computer engineering sounds fun. Why did I not take that instead of this bloody Geography? :banghead:
Heh, I applied to University three times and changed my mind before I decided. And I'm still not sure.

Just don't get into systems administration. If you wish to be a system administrator I suggest you seek mental heatlh services immediatley. Just kidding heh, not that bad, unless you count the users :) (I'm a sysadmin, I actually like my job usually)

In any event, welcome!
