Do you think Ken Lay, the ex CEO of Enron caused his premature death?

What do you mean "caused." Like actual suicide? Or, the stress he built up caused a heart attack? Or poetic justice/karma kind of thing?

Is premature ejection(from this mortal coil) anything like premature ejaculation? I think that Kenneth Lay, was not a good Lay!

I woulda voted "yes" except for "he had the most powerful people." Cause he got to have been super stressed, who could deal. Sure it's possible it was a covered-up suicide, but I'm guessing it was more like an accidental suicide, just the way I look at the world.

What about the other route, he caused it by what he was going to say or do during the trial? You know, some people probably wanted him quiet. Not saying I believe that but, you know, what's his face, Baxter, another Enron officer shot himself like 8-10 months after he'd already stepped down. :wtf: Found him in his car, parked in the middle of the street. I think they found some note saying he was "feeling grieved and worried about his family." Nothing like insuring the well being of your dependent loved ones by offing yourself.
I remember being really surprised by it because he could've paid whistle blower and really made his family some bank - at least. Was it HealthSouth that was in the news at that time? I think this was just after Time had named joint recipents Persons of the Year for being whistleblowers. All the laws that were enacted that were finally being put to the test outside of product liability.
I'm sure you could let your imagination run wild with possible connections in the oil/energy industry. Parties wanting to keep certain doings in hush hush...Could be more like Skilling not wanting Kennyboy from screwing up a perfectly good possible plea agreement. Maybe Fastow? Maybe Howard and that other guy??? The ones who were really moving the money around Wall St. That's when you start finding bodies, (figuratively). Plenty of guys from Arthur Andersen who'd love to put their foot in Ken's ass, I'm sure. I suppose if you wanted to go the whole Tom Clancy novel route, you'd have Dubya, or just The President, promise the energy company king the reconsturction contract for a post war middle eastern country. But then maybe the terms change, maybe the company king gets himself in trouble, wants help, can't get it. Decides he's gonna squeal. One of the Presidents' men knows they can't have that, take the energy exec out...
I don't know what I believe. Of course I have no real idea, but my hunch is Kennyboy wasn't leading a balanced enough life to prevent him from have a heart attack in his mid 60s anyway. I'd believe that having already been sick that he could've taken his life to avoid the public scrutiny and attacks his family would have to take that'd come in bulk portions during a lengthy trial. Also, I can believe that in the unlikely event that a company can have a market cap of $60 billion and then in the even more unlikely event of losing it all essentially overnight, causing not only sweeping changes in its industry but connecting industries, such as accounting and securities as well, that there would be a line (literal) of people who'd want someone dead. Overall, I'd probably lean towards natural death (progressive deterioration of health) but I wouldn't be surprised in the least by any of the 3 scenarios.

Fuck Ken Lay! He should have been publicly drawn and quartered, never mind if he killed himself or was offed by the Bush Administration to prevent embarrassing revelations at his trial ... I have no sympathy for these slobs when their greed comes home to fuck them - it never fucks them as hard as they deserve to be fucked. Thousands of people lost everything, everything they had and had worked hard to get - just gone. Humpo had his fun - a million bucks for a stinking birthday party is more than anyone deserves, so I don't care if he's dead. The people he fucked should line up and take pisses on his headstone.

Jeez, I was so bleak when I found out he died. I really wanted him to have years and years in prison
