Channel surffing i just ran across this info.
Attached to the new port bill just pushed through the house, transfering money online for the use in gambling is baned. Its sitting on the presedents desk. CNN says he will most liky sign it because he wants the majior consessions in the bill.
I HATE the sutpid little tags they add to majior bills. They cause so much damage all the damned time. The info about the tags added to the bill are alwase so underplayed/ hidden/ badly named, that the public has no clue about them till to late.
This tag has no base! is online gambling so bad? if gambling is so bad why is there a river boat on every body of water larger than a fish pond? I think its because of the huge tax revenue that (real) gambling dens produce.
Now im pissed.. great way to wake up in the morning, im not even through my first cup o' joe yet.

Online gambling was already illegal before this. This is just an attempt to enforce it. <_<
It won't work.
Easy way, get a credit card from a bank not based in the USA.

I think it will work but to get a credit card / bank account from a foriegn bank in a foreign currency appears to be a legit possibility. It's no different than foriegn investment after all the currency transitions are realized. Buy Pounds to make Pounds, just depends on the currency rates at the time of deposits and wihdrawals. The US can't stop that unless they are attempting to rule the world...
Not sure about the "address form" but I may need to contact/lend from my Euro-buddies if this is a dead issue.
Operation American freedom!

I suspect people will be able to get around it. However, I wonder if those that go to the trouble to get around it may be the more serious gambling types. The online suckers that think they can play poker after watching it on tv for two hours may disappear. Without those sheep to fleece I fear those making a living from online gambling may find the going a bit tougher.

I'm still gambling online. There are still plenty of suckers. Later this year, when banking reforms based around this bill are hashed out and put into place, then online gambling may become more difficult. Even then, though, there will still be suckers and you'll still be able to gamble online. It'll just take a little extra effort and game selectivity.

I'm wondering in a free country (a capitalist one at that) the government can outright make a law a decree to you that you cannot use your money in a certain way. Esspeically money you've earned and worked for.

Are you suggesting that the US is a free country?
Here is a link that proves otherwise: http://uscode.house.gov/
