I just got online and noticed 12 users and 465 guests. Wow!

Isn't there a Kurt Vonnegut Novel, or part of one, about a community of people who are visited by other people who remain invisible. Or maybe i'm making that up. The point is that it should feel like we're living in a goldfish bowl with so many observers ... but i guess if you can't see them you don't notice they are there.

Anyway, for those of you observing, join in and say hello.

I have been advising a company that is trying to hard to break these sort of number tests (bot techniques, special routines that liaise with Google etc).

Big business in some ways.

Hmmm, interesting Geoff. If the numbers on this site keep ramping up do we become a target for business? We're an odd market segment ... a community of people who don't generally associate with other people.

Are these numbers manipulated? Or was today really *everybody* online?

I think it includes search bots and/or guests in that figure. Notice it says "users" and not "members."
