I'll be in Paris and maybe Brussels just after Thanksgiving (November 20-30 or thereabouts), hanging out with friends for a bit on my way back to the States. If anybody is around and wants to meet, let me know, and maybe we can arrange something.

La la la. I'm here, but I don't see any INTPs. Humph!

Would have loved to have been able to make this but simply can't find the time.

That's two Humph's in one thread. Do I detect a hint of grumpiness :D

No, just a general lack of vocabulary heightened by too many days of Franglais. ;)

Don't be like that. There aren't many of us who could get to Paris easily... even if we had the time/money.

I could have shown up, but really... it would be weird. I don't see the point. What would have been the point?

There is no point. That's the point.

Good point.

Oh, lord. There isn't a point. Other than trying to be extroverted or some nonsense like that and drinking with someone you hardly know. Which would probably just be awkward, so I think we're all glad we're not going. At least that way, we can drink with people we know and stare sullenly into our alcohol. :)

If you can engender the channel temporarily freezing over then I'm sure more of us can come.

I'll see what my superpowers and I can manage. :smooch:

I'm actually really certain it would be awkward. If you're in Belgium this weekend, maybe we can go for a drink and go watch a movie. I have no idea why I'm getting myself involved in this.

Because you have ________ on your mind. You really want to _______ with her while you _______ the ________ as well.

The reason is because I don't want to have to think of myself as the person who is too afraid to meet people. Even though I am.

Tell you what, if you ever get withing a 2-hour drive of me (which means you are hanging out in North Dakota for some reason), I'll be happy to come and drink with you.

Hee hee. It's ok. I know you don't really want to hang out, so I'll let you off the hook. :smooch: I'm actually going to Belgium at the beginning of next week to drink with a Finn. And I will send you all of my best, alcohol-ridden wishes while I'm there.

And SensEye, that would be awesome! I'll be sure to do that when I'm next in North Dakota. ;)

Drinking with a Finn... there must be a joke there somewhere.

I would, but I can't. Besides, I don't drink. Neither do I know how to talk about anything other than philosophy, science, economics, politics etc. Because that's is all I ever think about, almost.

Sooner than 5 weeks ago? How much notice do you INTPs need? I thought you were all spontaneous and stuff. Or maybe you're holding me to some higher standard just because I have a "J" in my mix of letters? ;)

Hmm then I'd say you weren't looking hard enough. But I was in London by the time the 25th showed up, so I wouldn't have been able to make it.

Worse, I only know enough French to express politeness and (most importantly) plead that English be spoken...so la la la would likely have been our deepest and most intense of dialogues that day anyway.

say lavee :)
