View Full Version : Relationships FAQ
Anyone up to do some research or compile all of our bad advice into some official-looking document for the relationship subforum?
There are plenty of common questions:
Q: I'm an INTP guy and I like a girl. HELP! What do I do?
Q: I'm a non INTP girl and I like an INTP guy. HELP!
Q: Should I dump my SO?
Q: I just dumped my SO, what do I do now?
Q: I just got dumped. Should I commit suicide?
Q: How can I get revenge on an ex-lover and not get caught?
Q: I need to conquer a woman, mark her as my territory, make her my loyal subject, take her back to my lair and have my way with her. HELLLLLLLLLLLLP!
Q: Sigh, everyone. I'm headfonez. Why is no one taking my relationship advise seriously?
And many, many more. Anyone have answers or more questions to compile?

It should just be:
Q: Help. I'm an INTP.
All the rest of the questions that could be posed are automatically implied from this.

How about also:
Q: I'm INTP and lonely, how is it not my fault?
Q: I'm INTP and not lonely, nor do I emote, but hypothetically, what is Love?
I'm behind anything that will make all the relationship threads disappear as soon as possible.
yes, something must be done. I don't think we can kill the forum, but somehow we must exploit for fu raise the bar.
I thought LuridLemur also had a good idea (http://forums.intpcentral.com/showpost.php?p=440943&postcount=39).

I certainly wouldn't mind helping to compile some FAQ.
Nonetheless, I too have started one of those, "I like an INTP..." threads. Now I just feel bad. Screw you all.

Aww. You're concerned about that?
That old thread should be the least of your worries.

Wait. What should be the source of my worries? Is this about the handjob thread?

As a former frustrated young romantic, I sympathize with most of these posters. But geez, they sure do whine a lot. I suspect it's the anonymity of the Internet. When I was their age, if I wanted to whine about my [lack of] relationships I'd have to carve tablets do it to a friend, and I'm too proud for that.

Some of the advice given is so bizarrely bad that it might be mischief. One of Imperator's advice posts was particularly creepy (damned if I can remember the details), but I digress. He's not a prankster; he's genuinely creepy.
melancholeric's standard advice to THROW A BRICK AT HER CAR! is better than, oh, 70+% of the rest.
NPG is giving out handjobs?
She gave out a handjob thread. This is INTPc, man! Do you expect anything remotely sexual or romantic to actually happen? We just talk about it!

Sheesh. Way to take all of the sexiness out of it by stating the obvious. Must you destroy all of my dirty MacGuffin fantasies!?
Boo.
You don't deserve to have me in your signature!

Perhaps we need to replace the entire relationships forum with but one romantic advice thread. It would be like our own 'Dear Abby,' except that it would be nottaprettygal dishing out INTJ verbal lashings on the forlorn losers among us. Well, that would be my first choice. If she wanted to pass and someone else wanted to step up to the challenge, that'd be okay too.

Yup. Because no one knows (how to fuck up) relationships better than a female INTJ in her early twenties. Oh how I do enjoy a good verbal lashing though.
Also...Aww, you actually think of me as a member of the forum and not just one of those pesky non-INTPs. Cute.

These things are not exclusive. I know that J of yours wants a firm answer one way or the other, but I just can't do that for you. You're both a tresspassing non-INTP and a member of the private think tank subforum for the site, and not to mention my top nomination for crushing spirits in a relationship advice thread.

Have a heart, Hustler. I'm one little letter different. And don't we all look the same in the dark? Err--maybe that platitude doesn't apply here.
Nonetheless, I accept the nomination of INTP soul crusher.

YES! I'd really enjoy watching a tag team of nottaprettygal and meshou -- though I'm afraid only the most desperate motivated whiners would post to that thread.

You're so sarcastic you're more like three INTPs than one non-INTP. I mean that in a good way.

I vote for Rhu and notta to do "he said, she said" answers. It would be so entertaining for my little bystander self.
And if it turns into Lifetime*-type advice, I'll be so over you both.

There's always threads like this...

Either compiling a FAQ is a superawesome idea, or it will make matters worse.
i will say that it seems a little silly to assume a new user is... what did you say, a "shill?" y'all Do know that this site comes up on the first screen of a google search for "intp dating," right?
At least her thread would make another link for the FAQ, right under:
"Q: Hooray! I'm finally shacking up with an INTP! How do I not scare him off?"
