**See Post #4, I've updated the riddles and added a bounty. Thank you.**
I've thunk up a few (semi)challenging riddles for a game thing and would like some feedback on them. I figured this would be a good place since this is supposed to be the fun-gamey forum. Try to figure them out (I want to see how hard they are) and let me know what you think about them. I'm thinking a few are pretty tough.
1. Caesarean's 1/6 section
2. Sandman's evil messenger of royalty
3. Be_house Death
4. Carbon-enhanced medicine herb
5. Hell smell rodent
All the answers are pretty common items/terms/persons.
Hint #1: #3 led to #2's present condition.
Hint #2: Don't necessarily read them as phrases, focus on the words.
Thanks for your braintime.

Are the answers words or phrases?

Let me give some examples:
left breath
a: airport
Western African sapien bore
a: mandrill
20k people inked out, just add water
a: Bhopal disaster
fast lumber photon
a: dashboard light
complete carlo
a: the full monty
The goal is make them interesting and challenging without effecting a groan when the answer is found. Finding the line between clever and lame is appearing difficult. Feel free to be brutally honest.
Thanks again

Alrighty...
After some external feedback, it appears I need to loosen them up a bit and add some incentive. I will change out a couple of them with better riddles (#4 & #5) and add a small hint. I am also willing to put up a Bounty of $5 US for each correct answer, receivable through Paypal.
1. Caesarean's 1/6 section
hint: ______ and ______
2. Sandman's evil winged messenger of royalty
hint: famous person (pseudonym)
3. Beehous Death
hint: cause of death for #2
4. Before Ciccone
(no hint for this one yet)
5. Arthur's anti-subway shirt
hint: lunch
Any feedback on riddles, hints, and/or incentives much appreciated.
(Hopefully this doesn't break any forum TOS.)

And for those w/o Paypal... it will still be a great incentive to ruin other's chances at winning 5+ bucks

The only think I can think of for #2 is Kurt Cobain . . . for the "Enter Sandman" song by Nirvana??

Close, same industry. :)
I think the song you're thinking of is by Metallica.
Is #1 Italy? I have no clue, I suck at these.
#2 could be ziggy stardust (I can't remember how I got there, but I did)
#3 would be stung maybe, or pricked by a needle, as in drugs as in overdose.
#5 could be chain mail, like armour. If Arthur is a knight of the round table.

#5 hint: alphabetical

Freddie Mercury (although I can't really figure out the evil part.) Was Sandman a clarifyer so you pick Mercury instead of Hermes?
HIV.
I like these.

Right on deviousingly!
Freddie Kreuger was an evil 80's movie character that originally only appeared in dreams.
You're right in that Hermes would have probably made the riddle a little better. Do you think "Kreuger Hermes" would been a better riddle? I am trying to avoid straightforward synonym type answers, I'm hoping that some thought is needed to solve these.
Thanks again. :)

Ooooooh! I get it now! "Sandman evil" = Freddie Kruger.
I may have connected that if it was stated "Evil Sandman".
I think the "winged messenger" part is better than "hermes".
