The Ukraine has had a very hard time with Democracy. From the little bits and pieces I've picked up over the years, I believe the Mafia is very strong in the country.

Now... a Presidential Candidate is confirmed as being poisoned with Dioxin.

Where was Ukraine back when we needed them in 2000? ;P
That's truly horrible about the poisoning though.

I was being facetious, in a New World Order kinda way...

They are taking care of themselves, though they are having growing pains. After all, they chose Democracy themselves.

What makes this so interesting is potential Russian involvement in the whole thing. Yushchenko is pro-west while the guy he was running against is very close Russia and had the support of Putin. He also got sick after eating dinner with high ranking security official.

The interesting part would be the US reaction if the Russians were in some way implicated in the plot.

The greater the level of Democracy the greater the level of pain.


As Nietzsche put it so well, the next century ( the 20th, when Democracy really took off ), was to be the time when the resentful Weak would triumph and begin making serious pests of themselves.
