View Full Version : Austin,TX meet up.
Hi-meh
2 Dec 2006, 12:16 AM
Alright you wall flowers, come one come all! Wanted to see who else would be willing to attend an Austin meet up as I've noticed a few ICers running around on here who are from Austin. Besides myself I've got a cpl other ICers interested in meeting up, which might make an INTP meet up record or something or the other, either way you ladies and gents should come on out!
Disregard the date above! June 2nd is a now proposed date. Go here for a more updated thread.

I live in San Marcos so I'm down both geographically and metaphorically. But I'll be leaving for the holidays in a couple of weeks so it'd have to be before then if I'm going to go. Anytime on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday works and I don't really care where it is.

Crap, let me retype a shorter post. I'm thinking 2nd or 3rd wkd of Dec which means the 9th/10 and the 16th/17th at around or First weekend of January 6th/7th @ around 2pm. Bring the Wifeys or Girlfreinds along too if you/they like.
A place to meet, TGIFridays off Slaughter, Chilis off Stassney, Rockin' Tomato off Lamar? JRead any suggestions? I'll make reservations depending on where we are going based on when and where we are going.

I won't be able to attend if it's June second, and I imagine most people wouldn't either. I'm moving down there the 12th, but would like some time to settle in.
Some people might like to fly down, dork, and we're mostly Ps. A month-to-six-weeks gives people with careers and/ or who live further than 3 hours away time to book hotels or flights or both, and schedule time off work if needed.
I think that's why the Vegas meet rocked. People could, like, attend.

That sounds great at the Drafhouse, a superb idea, but I do object! Nothing is actually going to happen downtown on the 13th. The Rolling Roadshow will be in Round Rock as the original Alamo is closing down to make way for the new one. June 27th will be the last showing at the original Alamo Drafthouse Downtown.

Well if you go too, then we can both be intimidated together! :highfive: :sadbanana: I've never been on the IRC chat, I've never met anyone on Central, I'm not part of any board clique, I'm not even welll known on Central, heck, just look at my activity on Central and I've got less than 200 posts, and I've been here for almost two years. I can understand financial reasons though.
A suggested plan of attack could be is AN Alamo Drafthouse (a cpl more are open) night on Friday, and then hit up one of the local events Sat and conclude Saturday by going downtown to finish the night up. I'm pretty sure June 29th my capoeira angola group will be performing at one of my associates cafes, if people want to meet up that weekend, then it could provide a chance for people to meet before hand, and then check out the deomonstration after the formalities.

Vote, silly! (http://forums.intpcentral.com/showthread.php?t=21728)
Excellent! Austin is great any time.
Voting appears to be closed now, but I'd lean towards the 13th. I was thinking of seeing Michael Buble in Detroit the weekend of the 20th.
I've never been on the IRC chat, I've never met anyone on Central, I'm not part of any board clique, I'm not even welll known on Central, heck, just look at my activity on Central and I've got less than 200 posts, and I've been here for almost two years.
Guessing from photos you took, are you SirMac from INTPOpen?

Linna/Travelfun?! Holy Smokes, I haven't seen that name in a few yrs, put a smile on my face actually. Yup it's me, SirMac. Which photos are you refering to? The profile pic? I haven't been to Open in a long time, my name got purged from the list and I couldn't log in so I never bothered posting again, plus the board kept spiraling downwards, is Lyra still around and that guy who always talked like he was from the Renissance? That guy was hilarious.
Speaking of photos, that zebra and snow look familiar.

The artistic nature reminded me of something I seen somewhere... :)

Haven't been there in a very long while either. Lyra is still around, but not active there. A few folks are here under other names. I can't speak for renaissance dude.
But back to the original topic. Perhaps we'll finally get a chance to meet under the INTPCentral banner. Bring your photos.
