Well, I had to for work.

All I can say is that licking all the way around my lips feels very naked.
That and apperently girls find the lack of beards more sexy on average.

Have any of you males been denied the existance of the beard by the girl? Better yet, has a girl ever asked you to GROW a beard? Ive definitly been denied one before.

One day I would like to have the most artisitc shaving session and leave little triangles all over the place or something equally rediculous.

Why did work instruct you to do something you didn't want to do ? No sleazy little mf of an employer has any right to alter your appearance or change anything related to your private life just in return for handing out money earnt by your efforts. Back in the 19th century Bank-workers had to ask for permission to get married: in some countries they administer drug/alcohol/smoking tests even for what you do in your private life. Unless there's a totally valid reason, which is very rare, such as you sit underground ready to press the button, this is an affront to dignity.

As to beards, I reckon most girls dislike them because the regular spade shape type makes most men look indistinguishable; just as a group of girls in jeans all look the same after a while.

No-one has ever encouraged me to raise a beard, or even desist from shaving: personally, even the raggedy stubble of a week makes me look like a jewish peddler in old Poland, whereas clean-shaven I look like an Adonis*.

I agree with your point about beard, but with this:

...just as a group of girls in jeans all look the same after a while.I take exception.

some men look hot in facial hair..as long as it's not crazy mountain man facial hair.

I also agree with Sheepdog about the girls in jeans. Apparently you've never seen an obese chick in low-slung tight jeans before, Claverhouse.

I hate those 'chicks' who have their underwear showing.. it's like the stereotypical builder who bends over and you can see the crack of his arse.. that's disgusting...

oh and I haven't shaved my beard in a while.. my hair is far too long as well..

I've worked for multiple employers (including present employer) that demanded drug tests before employment and one that regularly "provided" random drug tests. One of my former employers would allow NO facial hair whatsoever and had pretty strict guidelines for hair styles. One allowed mustaches but no hair past crease of mouth.

Dignity aside, unless you have the ability or resources or luck to be self-employed, you are likely to have to submit to drug tests and/or dress codes enforced by your (corporate) employer. It sucks, but it comes with the territory.

I haven't shaved my beard in a while.
I keep it trimmed, but I've had it continuously since middle school. Occasionally I'll take suggestions, but that's about all the control other people have on my face.

I've never had a job that cared about facial hair too much.

I've had to pee in a cup at the beginning of two different jobs. I found it demeaning, though I did it.

I thought it would be funny once to just shave one side of my face, and leave the other growing. The patches would be fun, too.

I do hope this was for a drugs test...

And jeans, besides being boringly conventional, do make most women ( & men ) look almost indistinguishable after a while: visit any supermarket & see the middle-aged mummies and their ditto-attired offspring loading the trolleys*.
Uniforms have their place to make people alike, but strictly in the military and police units.

Claverhouse

* Should that be trollies ? Or trolls ( trollys ) pushing trolleys ?

It doesn't matter if everyone has hot jeans on. Still hot. We didn't really have that when I was a teenager...We hadn't left the alt-rock era. If only I'd been ten years ahead or behind. Mmm...behind.

51% of women prefer some kind of facial hair on men. Did you know that shit?

Better yet, has a girl ever asked you to GROW a beard? I made howiec grow a beard, but that was strickly for a play-like object where he had to be a goat. Of course I also made the child go without washing his hair for a couple days so it would fake dread-lock properly...(you've heard it first: goats in Kentucky have scruffy beards and dreads.)

Also, not all girls look exactly the same in jeans, it's just the vast majority who do, and the same applies to guys.

I would just like to take this opportunity to express to you all my hatred of shaving. Its the morning ritual I hate the most. I dislike having facial hair (whole face feeling itchy is not fun) so I am stuck.

I can't understand rules about facial hair at all. Even though I never have any, I would start looking for a new job with rules like that.

I have known women that loved beards, or just that I-haven't-shaved-for-a-week look on men; I am not much for facial hair though. Having to shave for a job is ridiculous. But it happens, c'est la vie...

Ed: 51% of women like some sort of facial hair on men eh? I would like to believe it, but I dont think its like that in reality...whats the source on that? I was just going with what I think to be common opinion? (that most girls dont like) :|

By the way everyone: I had to shave my beard for work purely for functional purposes; My job has morphed into me having to go into hazardous work areas once in a while where I need smooth face to make my face mask seal.

Sheep:Random circle pathes would be cool too, but much more effort would be required. I think one day it will be "modern fashion" maybe in 20 years from now little 18 year olds will have that kind of shiznat. They got to think of something new and innovative:P

Well about half of them prefer not, you know. Source was "Some survey I read about."

As creditable an attribution as most scientific surveys... Your reason, not the actual survey which was no doubt junk.

Remember, red wine and coffee will make you live forever, until next week when they will be found to induce cancer.

Geez, you have yet to post something that didn't mirror what I was thinking, I fear we maybe clones! Yeah I hate shaving, I do it once or so a week. At the moment it is cooler and dryer (ie winter) and I am giving the beard thing a shot for the millionth time, it is just starting to itch, odds are by next week I'll be smooth again.

FYI, shaving a beard SUCKS, it is like all those skipped shaved with compound interest!

After a while the new beard stops itching. I can't remember how long "a while" is because it was 20+ years ago. But I like not having to shave any more... except my neck. I don't go for the mountain man look.

I so wanna, and I would get off easy 'cause mine stops about were you'd want it to, so no neck work needed, but the itch; damn it is worse than morphine

As far as women go, I think moderation tends to be the best. I usually just have chin pubes and I think it's a good choice.

Have you ever noticed how alot of Greek men always wear a gold chain? That's so they know where to STOP shaving...

I've got one of those "boyish" faces so I like a bit of stubble to counteract it. I hate getting asked for I.D by some punk who never even had a crush on Daisy Duke.

I don't dare go past stubble stage due to my circular bald patch on one side. And with a beard I look somewhat like a paedophile.

I shaved about 2wk worth of growth this morning, which was getting to be a trim looking beard, it got warm here and all the sudden it wasn't fun anymore.
