I heard that the Ethiopians help the UN backed guvment of Somalia root out the Islamic courts down in Mogadishu. But usually when it's a total collapse that almost always means guerilla tactics are in the future.are the Ethiopians ready to stay in there?

they're just helping Somalia's government regain control of the regions the islamists have taken hold. The majority in Somaila do not want to see another taliban rule their country so the government has a good chance of settling this quickly with the help of the Ethiopians.
