What the hell is going on with our country? Our "leaders" are salivating at the lips for any chance to go to war with Iran. The Defense commented in response to questions about the massive naval buildup in the Persian Gulf:
"We are simply reaffirming that statement of the importance of the Gulf region to the United States and our determination to be an ongoing strong presence in that area for a long time into the future." (link (http://infowars.net/articles/january2007/150107Iran_attack.htm))
Of course this is aimed at Iran because having naval ships in the region has nothing to do with stabalizing Iraq. Remember the military build-up before the Iraq strike? And if this isn't bad enough, we're capturing and holding Iranian officials and accusing them of aiding terrorists in Iraq (of course no evidence has been furnished). The London Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml;jsessionid=NSVKO5XEMP4BPQFIQMFSFFOAVCBQ0IV0?xml=/news/2007/01/14/niraq114.xml) reports that:
America has accused five Iranians detained by its forces in Iraq last week of involvement in Teheran?s efforts to supply insurgent militias with financing, training and weapons.
Iran angrily rejected the claims and demanded the release of the officials, who were working a liaison office in Irbil, the capital of Kurdish northern Iraq.
A statement from the US military said: ?Preliminary results revealed the five detainees are connected to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard ? Qods Force, an organisation known for providing funds, weapons, improvised explosive device technology and training to extremist groups attempting to destabilise the government of Iraq and attack Coalition forces.?
On a tour of the Middle East, the US secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, said America would no longer tolerate Teheran?s support for armed groups in Iraq.
We are headed down a dangerous path in America, which means the world is also heading down this path. I've been looking at CNN all day and no mention of any of this stuff. They been talking about missing children all day. Just doing their part in programming the people, and they're consider liberal of the cable news networks.
Anyway, this is real news right here.

KUWAIT CITY: Washington will launch a military strike on Iran before April 2007, say sources. The attack will be launched from the sea and Patriot missiles will guard all oil-producing countries in the region, they add. Recent statements emanating from the United States indicate the Bush administration's new strategy for Iraq doesn't include any proposal to make a compromise or negotiate with Syria or Iran. A reliable source said President Bush recently held a meeting with Vice President Dick Cheney, Defense Secretary Robert Gates, Secretary of State Dr Condoleezza Rice and other assistants in the White House where they discussed the plan to attack Iran in minute detail.
According to the source, Vice President Dick Cheney highlighted the threat posed by Iran to not only Saudi Arabia but the whole region. "Tehran is not playing politics. Iranian leaders are using their country's religious influence to support the aggressive regime's ambition to expand," the source quoted Dick Cheney as saying. Indicating participants of the meeting agreed to impose restrictions on the ambitions of Iranian regime before April 2007 without exposing other countries in the region to any danger, the source said "they have chosen April as British Prime Minister Tony Blair has said it will be the last month in office for him. The United States has to take action against Iran and Syria before April 2007."
Claiming the attack will be launched from the sea and not from any country in the region, he said "the US and its allies will target the oil installations and nuclear facilities of Iran ensuring there is no environmental catastrophe or after effects." "Already the US has started sending its warships to the Gulf and the build-up will continue until Washington has the required number by the end of this month," the source said. "US forces in Iraq and other countries in the region will be protected against any Iranian missile attack by an advanced Patriot missile system."
He went on to say "although US Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Secretary of State Dr Condoleezza Rice suggested postponing the attack, President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney insisted on attacking Tehran without any negotiations based on the lesson they learnt in Iraq recently." The Bush administration believes attacking Iran will create a new power balance in the region, calm down the situation in Iraq and pave the way for their democratic project, which had to be suspended due to the interference of Tehran and Damascus in Iraq, he continued. The attack on Iran will weaken the Syrian regime, which will eventually fade away, the source said.

Russia is now getting in on the act. It's starting to look bad folks.
------------------
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia has delivered new anti-aircraft missile systems to Iran and will consider further requests by Tehran for defensive weapons, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said on Tuesday.
"We have supplied the modern short-range anti-aircraft systems TOR-M1 in accordance with our contracts," Ivanov told reporters. "Iran is not under sanctions and if it wants to buy defensive ... equipment for its armed forces then why not?" Read more... I particularly enjoyed the irony inherent in this comment.

U.S, sent another naval ship to the Gulf region. The rhetoric is intensifying. So now to naval battleships are over there. In response, Iran has moved troops to the northern Iraqi border, as reported in the Arab press (http://www.kuna.net.kw/home/Story.aspx?Language=en&DSNO=944040). Ya'll think I'm paranoid but positioning troops for battle is a sure sign of coming war. The U.S. started it with those naval ships. Iran, not wanting to be a sitting duck like Iraq was, are positioning its troops to cause at least some discomfort to a would be attacker. Be prepared; it's not like you're gonna get an email from your government saying "hey we'll be lighting Iran up next week. Mark your calendars." Major change is always swift, uncertain, and unexpected to most observers.

El Presidente mentioned Iran in the State of the Union Address tonight. All signs point to war. Something about Shia uprisings.

What lunacy. Take a look at a map and see the Straits of Hormuz, the outlet of the Persian Gulf, all the oil from the Arabian Peninsula -- and the US Navy ships now in the Persian Gulf. They are quite narrow. Between missiles and mines, the Iranians could probably close the Persian Gulf just as Britain could close the Straits of Gibraltar.
Add to that the possibility of a mass Shia uprising in Iraq if Iran is attacked. They could close the road from Kuwait to Baghdad.

I don't think they're crazy enough to try to invade the landscape (I can't believe I gave them that much credit) from the sea. They'll try to invade from the south via the Iraqi border. That's why Iran sent it's troops there. Iran is probably thinking just like you on closing the gulf and the U.S. I'm sure knows this too. They'll be launching missiles from those ships at key target (with Israel and Britain's help of course:)). They'll probably be bombing them for weeks to months in an attempt to try to soften them up first. But that may take forever as Russia is on Iran's side and have publicly been sending them missiles. So Iran will have some shit to shoot back with.
