Ah great! I had wanted to watch this.

A Dispatches reporter attends mosques run by organisations whose public faces are presented as moderate and finds preachers condemning integration into British society, condemning democracy and praising the Taliban for killing British soldiers.

Prime Minister Tony Blair recently described tolerance as 'what makes Britain Britain' but in this extensive investigation Dispatches reveals how a message of hatred and segregation is being spread throughout the UK and examines how it is influenced by the religious establishment of Saudi Arabia.

Dispatches has investigated a number of mosques run by high profile national organisations that claim to be dedicated to moderation and dialogue with other faiths. But an undercover reporter joined worshippers to find a message of religious bigotry and extremism being preached.

He captures chilling sermons in which Saudi-trained preachers proclaim the supremacy of Islam, preach hatred for non-Muslims and for Muslims who do not follow their extreme beliefs - and predict a coming jihad. "An army of Muslims will arise," announces one preacher. Another preacher said British Muslims must "dismantle" British democracy - they must "live like a state within a state" until they are "strong enough to take over."

excellent documentries

Did you see the one before this when the reporter meets the taliban and they say to him,

"We had a gathering before you came, and voted on whether to kill you, kidnap you or grant you an interview. Fortunately, we voted to do the interview"

It's better than watching the news with its bias coverage.

Is that rhetoric from the Wahabi cult? Or is there another one I don't know about?

"Wahhabi cult rhetoric". That's it. Heh, they really should start reading the Quran and Hadith don't ya think? I wonder where the hell they come up with all their rhetoric. They must've dreamed it all up.

Personally I see that some of his interpretations only applied to someone living in the feudal regions of Uzbekistan, someone like him. I understand how his writings, which have very prejudiced views against non-muslims, can appeal to extremists.

Updated the links in the OP. You can now watch the complete 1 hour show in six parts.

This is an absolute gem. I really wouldn't have expected a mainstream media outlet in Britain to do this sort of thing now. The "moderate" Muslim Council of Britain has already expressed its disgust over this, instead of praising C4 for exposing the "tiny minority of extremists" among British Muslims. Their hypocrisy is disgusting. What's even more disgusting is that all C4 really had to do in order to find this "tiny minority" was to visit some of Britain's largest and most popular mosques (esp. Regent's Park), which were supposed to be the "centres of moderate Islam in Britain".

Chances are this will get taken down by YouTube soon, so don't miss it!

The mainstream media in the UK has a lot of freedom - it doesnt surprise me. Short of actually inciting racial hatred/terrorism, pretty much anything goes in these subjects.

And a good thing it is too. But let's not just single our Muslims, I wonder what an undercover Christian priest might find out?

Really?

It's only channel 4 that dares to put on these sorts of shows. Even pissing the Russians off with that interview with the Chechen Rebel.

Ever since Greg Dyke resigned over government pressure the BBC lost it, they seem to be all too quick to fall into line.

The Tabloids are a joke.

In the future we'll have to get real news from Infowars and Aljazeera

Like I said the media *has* the freedom (eg Ch 4) - they just dont all have the courage to use it like Channel 4 has been.
