Hi,

My name is Jackie -- just thought I'd introduce myself. I don't have a marked interest towards forums of any type -- the last time I did was circa 1998 and it was actually alt.hackers.malicious. Haha. I was only around 14 at the time though, so I guess it's not _too_ lame.

I'm 19 years old and currently working in Iraq as a contractor for Lear Siegler Services, Inc. -- under a Halliburton (Kellogg, Brown & Root [EVIL!!!]) sub-contract. I'm a light wheel vehicle mechanic, which means I work on military vehicles with soldiers that are stationed out here, such as the commonly known HMMWV and other assorted things. I've even performed administrative duties in an office here. Jack of a few trades.

I was in Iraq at the same time last year, except under a different set of circumstances. I was in the military, stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado.
In the military, my MOS (military occupational specialty, something I went to military school with drill sergeants for five months back to back with basic training to learn) was 45k, which is a tank-turret mechanic. Hydraulics, mechanics, electrical, electronics, fire control systems. M1 Abrams, Bradleys, that sort of stuff, if you're familiar with U.S. Army tanks. I was awarded the 45b secondary MOS while I was out in Iraq (Small arms -- mostly foreign weapons such as AK-47's, etc).

My life is usually a whirlwind of activity.

I was born in New York City, moved to Paris, France with my mother when my parents divorced -- I was about 5 years old, and then moved to Miami Beach about 5/6 years after that. Moved back to NYC, then joined the military.

I turned 19 out in the desert and I will turn 20 here as well.

The money's not bad. I'm going to travel... I have serious wanderlust, in spite of all the places I've been (My family loves to travel).

I am most definitely an INTP, and never even knew about MBTI until 'garak', another forum member and my bestest (OMG!!!1 Leet liek JeffK) friend in the multiverse, introduced me to it about a month ago. Since then everything has fallen into place. My past actions and reactions make sense to me. Strangely enough, I seem to have now found something that adds a little order to my seemingly disorderly life.

It's so strange.

The damned descriptions match me to a tee.

:/

Let's just say I'm a little uncomfortable with introspection.

Anyway,
That's about it for a short summary. Nothing else really comes to mind.

HI! :D

Doesn't kindergarten graduation qualify one to operate and maintain an AK? ;) I've thought at least once that Kalashnakov might be INTP.

Watch out for the Arabs. Just the bad ones.

Welcome, jaxOm :hello:

What places do you want to travel to next?

Well, that definitely makes a new spot on our INTP map.

Welcome!

I don't usually welcome new people. I'm just not a welcoming type person. In fact, I hardly ever read the intro's. Your smiley made me look. Welcome. I hope you'll be able to make lots of posts; you sound like you're leading a very interesting life.

I think I'll be backpacking through Europe first. Although there are a billion places I'd like to go... Adventure suits me.

My year-long contract with this company will be up at the end of September this year... So I suppose I might wait a while and get my life back in order for a few months afterwards so that I can hit Europe in the summer. Doesn't sound very appealing in the winter... although snow can be fun, constant rain and general dreariness does not.

Sure, AK's are fun and easy for the whole family. I've also worked on numerous handguns, AR-15's, mortar tubes, shoulder-launched missiles, etc... ad nauseum.

I wouldn't call myself an expert by any means, but it's still fun to get done with whatever you were working on, then go test it out on a range somewhere before handing them into the Iraqi troops :)

Nothing in the military requires much intelligence.
