A 76-year-old woman from southern Thailand has been reunited with her family after taking the wrong bus 25 years ago.

Jaeyaena Beuraheng, a Malay-speaking resident of Narathiwat province in Thailand's deep-south, got on a bus which took her to Bangkok instead of back home after visiting her husband across the border in Malaysia 25 years ago.

I don't understand how this could happen. What about non-verbal communication? I'm surprised that no one could guess her dialect family (Malay) properly, for 25 years - it's not as if Thailand & Malaysia aren't neighbors. Wouldn't her appearance & dress give some clues as to her origins? And she wasn't able to learn enough Thai in 25 years to communicate?

Sounds like something I'd do.
