unfinished art

Anyone else ever start a LOT of drawings and never finish any of them? I used to love to draw (I barely do anymore), but I seriously can't find ANYTHING completed. I think I could never get good at drawing because I could never keep interested long enough. I have a couple of sketchbooks filled up with nothing but incomplete drawings. :huh:

This is one of the last things I drew. I was going to take it apart and make the different doodles into their own pictures in the same style, but of course, I never got around to it:

This is some actress that I can't remember the name of. I'm not a fan, she just so happened to be in front of me when I got in a mood to draw. After I got done, I noticed that the mouth was too big and I decided to redo it. As you can see, I lost interest before I even finished erasing:

This is some kind of creature that started out as a random blob doodle on a piece of paper. I was going to color everything in and add a river in a deep forest in the background, but didn't even finish coloring my creature:

I know what you mean by not finishing. I have several spiral notebooks of half finished song lyrics. Not to mention all the music I've got half written in my mind.

I usually have some unfinished poem wandering around (written on napkins, supermarket receipts etc), but I don't like leaving them unfinished, they seem to go in waste.... so, the next time I get in a writing mood, I usually try to pick up from where I left. I think I might have some verses still wandering around, but they are very few.

Cool, actually I really like your art as it is, its perfect unfinished. This is very perfectly INTP of you. It makes me happy to see people leaving things undone. Me too, I also have drawing tablets with sketches, pencil drawings, and architectural drawings unfinished. Gee, I think we should be artists here!

I love the creature drawing.

I too have tons of unfinished work. Acrylic paintings, watercolor, airbrushing, drawings, and songs. I have way more unfinished work than finished, and the finished artwork usually isn't as representative of my current talent. I am a tattoo apprentice now, so I really have to commit to finishing my work for the client. The positive side is that you can only needle someone for 3-4 hours before they have to take a break and heal for a few weeks.
