yesterday I came into work and my boss was watching the game(vikings versus greenbay).. I'm not a sports fan really so I ask if it's the superbowl which is usually after christmas some time. so then I start cooking some food since I'm hungry then I come in the room as Randy does his pantomime of mooning the crowd. I didn't really think anything of it then my boss and the other guy commented about it and the announcer said it was 'disgusting' -- what? disgusting? I've seen much worse things on tv. then I'm driving into work today and on MPR (http://www.minnesotapublicradio.org/) they're fucking talking about it and the commentator was saying how it's bad for consumers and making it sound like the football players are employees and that an employee at a restaraunt wouldn't be allowed to do that without getting fired. anyway, I thought it was pretty fucking lame. I didn't believe my boss yesterday when he said it would make some sort of 'headline' ..

of course, what does all this mean? is the media tired of reporting on the tsunami? is that why this was newsworthy? no, most likely not. anyway, I forgot what else I was going to say.
mmm, just noticed some of the links are broken.. use this if you want to find any articles about it:

Despite my post on the other thread, I don't think it is as bad as the commentators claim. According to Tony Dungy, Packers fans regularly moon the team bus of the opponents so Randy was just getting back at Packers fans for their past transgressions. I still think Terrell Owens's antics are funnier.

I'm more concerned about his ankle than his ass.

T.O. is much funnier, but his antics have an obvious context. They don't play the "mooning of the bus" on the shows, so I have no context.
Randy Moss is NOT a team player. He is an uncontrollable problem. Atleast T.O. makes overly-aggressive blocks for his team mates! Moss has the physical ability to surpass every statistic Jerry Rice ever brought to the lime-light. Unfortunately, he has the maturity and leadership skills of a pre-pubescent kiddy trying to get all of the attention on the field.
Brian Billick will have to shred his ego next year if he has any hope in living up to his potential.
*Yes, he's going to Baltimore, no one else(including Minnesota) wants to deal with him*
I agree with Groty about his personality and I thought the mooning was pretty funny. It's not like he really mooned the crowd.

Brian Billick is an arrogant prick - so is Randy Moss. The two clearly deserve one another. I wonder how Randy will tolerate catching bounce passes from Kyle Boller. Maybe Ray Lewis will kill him.
It's funny that all the news coming out of the NFL this year has to do with nudity and mooning. Ridiculous.

I think the Moss haters blow most everything he does or doesn't do out of proportion. If you already hate him, he's going to give you a reason to hate more.
The crowd was jawing at him the whole game. In the first quarter you could see him jawing back and pointing to the scoreboard when the Vikes were up 17-3. Did anyone mention that?
He's got what 65-70 thousand people calling him out, he makes some big plays to help win the game then tells everybody to kiss his ass. Sounds like the great American way to me. Seriously, if you're getting that upset about someone basically playing charades, you really have some control issues you need to work through.
I can't say I'm a Moss fan but I thought he was well within his right to answer the taunts back the way he did.
I agree that he had the right to "moon" the crowd but a true professional wouldn't let the crowd get to them. That's when the crowd wins even if the team loses.
We used to heckle the other team at University football games. Most players were good sports about it. One guy made an interception once, ran across the field jumped up on the bench, pointed at us, and spiked the ball. We got to him, he wasn't playing against the other team, he was playing against us. And the fans always win that game.

Randy Moss can and does run-block; he's just a dick. What the fuck is he going to do in baltimore with kyle "shoulda been a" boller throwing it at his feet? If I'm a WR, I don't leave a QB like daunte when he's in his prime...

sorry crule, I mentioned boller's bounce-passes on another post before reading yours! I think ray-ray and moss will get along fine, and you're right about he and billick deserving one another. Incidentally, I find them both (moss & billick) to be highly entertaining.

Well I didn't think much of it at the time, and then the announcer called it 'disgusting' and i was thinking whatever, but i knew it would blow up after the whole walking off the field with 2 seconds left the game prior, which was much worse, imho.
then after the dungy interview where i found out for the first time that green bay fans moon the bus of a team that loses to Green Bay at home on their way out of town i thought it was hilarious.
As for Moss' attitude he wouldn't even have been in Minnesota if he wasn't considered to have an attitude problem in the first place, as he would've been taken much higher in the draft - people can cry about Randy all they want but they knew what they were getting, and the Minnesota fans love him - Minnesota does want to deal with him trust me ...
As for Owens he's the biggest whiner in the league ... he wants the on-field show to be all him, if McNabb doesn't throw to him in triple coverage he'll go and bitch at him and claim he was open (ok, maybe double teamed), and he's complaining again now that he's hurt ... at least Moss doesn't seem to complain about the number of passes being thrown his way - i don't see how the claim that he wants everything through him would stick - he gets the attention he does 'cause the media keeps going to him - on the other hand Owens also goes to the media. Also going to 50 yard line to celebrate his touchdown against the Cowboys is still the single most disrespectful celebration i've seen yet ... tho i liked the autograph one alot ...
