ENTP here, heavy on the NP.

My brother is an INTP and we get along well.

I live in Austin with my family, I work as an IT consultant and when things are slow, I extravert my intuitive function at as many people as I can on the internet.

So what is it about ENTPs that they cant get together a decent internet forum? My other favorite forum is game oriented and 60% of it is INTJ and INTP types - only 6% are ENTP.

Also, when you get too many ENTPs together, the conversations can get boring because everyone is all about respecting each others reality and perception of it, etc. I like the introverts as they somehow seem to be less lost in their own freaky abstractions...

Well, ENTPs are extraverted, but we can also be freaky and misunderstood so while we do try and meet people, depending on how balanced we are, they often look at us and run away screaming. At least, thats pretty much how grade school was for me:

Hi!

Hi!

Wanna come over to my house and use my chemistry set to kill ants?

AAAAAAIIIIIIIYAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder how you came to the conclusion that introverts are "less lost in freaky abstractions"? Concrete thinking isn't really an INTP thing...
But it's nice to hear that even extroverts get misunderstood - that'd perhaps make us less envious.

And yeah, welcome and stuff.

Interresting. at least your an NT. welcome.
Would be great if a lot of the other MBTI types could get together and discuss
psych issues. Suspect some would not, would like to examine an ESTJ's mind.

Most definately an NT, my wife is still helping me get in touch with my F, but sometimes I think the N can work as an inferior substitute?

No, nobody wanted to play with me.

My nrother is an INTP, my cousin an INTJ and I had an INTJ mother, but I sweat that everyone I grew up with was an SJ.

I never had a girlfriend in HS because all the girls that I knew were SJs - maybe an SP, but they just thought I was weird and I am actually pretty handsome and socially well adjusted.

Well, now I am older and fat, but back then... ;)

Hi, I'm the INTP brother of this ENTP ant killer. He's also a frog killer. I was having a staring contest with a frog about 4 inches from its face when it spasmed and started squirting blood. I looked up and there was my brother with a BB gun.

NICE.

We're actual grown-ups now, so the animal torture has slowed, which created an angst that only online forums can appease. Anyways, he dragged me here, so that's my warm introduction. {curtsey}

Well, I guess the ENTP is forgiven for intruding in this INTP sanctuary, since he dragged an INTP with him.

Welcome!

Personally I scored exactly even I and E, so I might be ENTP. Feel like INTP most days though....

I am scared shitless of frogs, but that is harsh. Poor froggie. Poor, poor, evil froggie...

Anyway, welcome, siblings.

Chemistry set!? Fire crackers to the fire ant hills are much more fun!

Valtro434

Indeed.

But in Northern California, there are not a lot of obvious ant hills (no fire ants) and firecrackers were illegal and in short supply.

However I had a friend who was in retrospect an ENTP as well and he always managed to wrangle some lady fingers at least.

We would setup our hotwheels and army men and plant charges under them, or wedged inside the vehicles if we could.

We also played with Legos quite a bit - perhaps the ultimate toy to help express the inventive drive.

I actually felt bad about the frog, but as the big-brother-in-chief, I did not have the luxury of public sorrow or regret.

Does anyone know how many Texans there are now, as members? (And, do you two consider yourselves Texans, or Californians?)

Well, if you are in Austin now there are plenty of fire ant hills and fire crackers too--I think ya'll still have access to firecrackers......Wow, I feel bad for the frog too. As long as you didn't advance to kitties and other larger furry creatures I won't worry about the sociopath factor!

hi fellow ENTp,
For awhile I was sure I'm an INTp, but after some reading I decdied that I'm rather an ENTp (just a simple ENTp now...) ...
I actually result in every test as INTp (sometimes INTj) but I think that because of social skills I scored that way and actually the ENTp profile fits me almost 100%. Actually the INTp profile fits me very well too, but I then realized that I'm more Extroverted iNtuitive than Introverted Thinking. I'm not quite fixed at it yet. Anyway I think the INTp profile fits me so well is pratially because my solitary and non social character and, pratially since these are both Conceptualist types.

By the way, what's good in ENTp's?

Excellent point.

No sociopathic behaviors here. No indicators of mental illness.

My brother and I were raised by an INTJ mom and an ISTJ dad - there are a lot of NTs in our family so we were fortunate to avoid some of the hazards that a lot of NT and NP types experience growing up.
