 I just don't know what to do with myself on the new board. I just wanted to make my presence known. I'm sure it's been discussed about archiving the "old" board (or transferring the threads?), but I'm too lazy to go looking for it. There are some classics though. And do I really have to take all of those tests again?

I was thinking the same thing.
If all the posts from the previous forum were here,
Id feel better about posting.

Not so much. The fish is a Christian symbol (http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_symb.htm) which has been adapted by secularists, etc., to display different religions or doctrines, or just joke at the expense of Christians. Check out other adaptations (http://www.evolvefish.com/fish/emblems.html) and you'll see the connection the symbol trys to establish with Freud is more sexual.

I want a Satan fish with flames!

My favourite is still the classic Darwin fish. ;)

Jkrs: Me too. After that, I like the Invisible Pink Unicorn fish (http://www.geocities.com/ipuprophecy/ipu.html). I'm actually somewhat surprised they don't sell it on evolvefish, it's a pretty big inside joke in the atheist online community.

I have the Darwin fish on the back of my riding lawn mower and I wear an evolve fish pendant with my medic alert tags.

I'm decked out!

love it <g>

to be honest... I was way in my midteens before I found out about the Christian symbolic meaning of the fish...

before that I always thought people had just commercial bumper stickers on their cars as we have this fastfood-chain over here called "Nordsee" ...
which has this very similar Fish-Logo :D

Don't know if the Nordsee-people knew what they were doing by choosing it ...almost wish they did...hilarious joke...

check it out at www.nordsee.com

I didn't learn about the Christian fish symbolism until a recent history of architecture class. It was part of the decoration found on early Christian buildings in Rome I believe, which made it relevant to our class.

I'll take the satan fish with flames on wheat bread, plain. If I wanted all the vegetables, seasonings, etc., I'd eat a salad. But I digress. Does this satan fish with flames eat children in the night? Is it red as the blood of the demons of the darkest pits of Nessis?

Wait a minute- demons don't live in Nessis...

Change that to devils.

Good old Greyhawk/Planescape cosmology.
