I hope this post isn't redundant. I am wondering what you all think of the recently released Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence.

Beautifully done, in my opinion.

It wasn't anything special in my eyes. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing number 2.

That is of course after I manage to track down a japanese copy of Casshern first ¬_¬

*edit....damn it, I said i wouldn't come back*

Have you guys seen Perfect Blue. I just noticed my Anime collection was starting to grow. I just bought Grave of the Fireflies and loved it.

I also really want to see Ghost in the Shell 2.

I saw Ghost in the Shell 2 without subtitles... had no clue what was going on. But I liked the Stand Alone Complex better.

Have you seen my Dun-uh dun-ahs?

I think you are thinking of Blue Crush and I wouldn't touch you dun-uh dun-as with a ten foot pole.

Grave of the Fireflies had a great story, but that is a story for another topic. I can't offer any deference on GITS2, because I havent seen it. Sorry I cant be more informative.

Sashito Kon (Perfect Blue director, right?) has this series called Paranoia Agent. I've seen one set of episodes. Interesting.

Grave of the Fireflies seems like a classic, but it's not one that I would want to watch often. I do see it's historical and artistic value, though.

I saw it. Rather creepy. Kinda interesting, but it mostly just refused to be coherent. It also had a lot of scenes that seemed to be there for no other reason than to show off the (admittedly impressive) CG effects. Like this parade thing that really didn't mean anything. For instance, there was this completely useless parade sequence in the middle of it that was rather pretty, had nothing to do with the actual plot, and took waaaaay too long for it's own good.
I never saw the first one. I might see it, but most of what I needed to know about the previous one was explained. No, the things I needed explained to me that they didn't explain were all pertaining to the current plot.
And it has a really really annoying theme song.
There was also the most adorable dog in the universe. I usually completely ignore adorable dogs, since I'm not much of a domestic animal person, but how can anyone resist a serious tough-guy cyborg detective with a cute floppy Basset Hound that is inexplicably adorable. Argh! It's too cute! I can't bear it's supernatural cuteness any longer! Argh!

I liked it. I've seen better, but as far as they go, it's pretty good.
