yeah i could probably almost get into a bar without being asked for ID ... if i don't shave for two weeks that is
Just tell your mum you're meeting some bikers you met on the inernet... ;)
she would definitely freak-out:grin:
and my mum is married ... lol
i wouldn't have any trouble getting down there as i have a vehicle and make my own money ... but its just running it past my parents is the problem ... do any of the uni's have open days during that period of time:devil:

pfft, i've barely been outside my own back yard, i'm quite the sheltered American asshole(who happens to enjoy video games).
edit: sigh, i guess i'll quit being lazy and mapquest it
edit edit: wtf, Australia? how is some city in Australia an obvious landmark? whatever, i'll return myself to my cave, locked away from the rest of the world.

...would it have been too "E"eee to trawl the previous threads for interest?
I'm more interested in reading about INTP's failed relationship attempts than checking to see if there will ever be a new meet-up thread...
...not that I'm saying I'd go to one... *makes up some excuse about washing hair*

I'd be interested in a future meet, but looks like the giant hand of apathy struck everyone down.
A meeting could even consist of just two people. Anyone up for it?
If you guys want to go i'll organise it (again) but last time there was like a month of notice...... and aparantly it wasn't enough

A little deadly nightshade can go a long way. Welcome to the garden, belladona.
Unfortunately Melbourne is out of my range at present.

If I'm in Aus at the time* I'm in.

I've been lurking for a little. A habit of mine - I like to think muchly before I jump into a conversation and since I found this place, there has been so many interesting conversations to read that I haven't had time to think up any answers.
Besides. For once, I actually feel a little intimidated. There are people here who I'd consider intelligent and that is a rarity in my experience.
Meet tentatively organised for the weekend of 28/29 of july.
Would anyone like to nominate another date or time ?
what is your availibility?
EL84
25 Jun 2007, 10:27 AM
Yes I will make myself available.
What sort of thing do people have in mind? Suggestions - meal in Chinatown, or Casino buffet, or coffee somewhere, or midwinter BBQ in Dandenongs, or...
Details and gossip after the event please - I live vicariously through you southerners.

The last weekend in July would be fine. Just not an afternoon - I sleep then.
I have no idea about where though.
That's two yeas, that's enough, I'll go into planning mode.
I was thinking more of a night out.

Alas I dislike Melbourne more than I like INTPs. Also that's pretty much my Birthday and I'll probably be reading Harry potter by then anyway.

I dislikes cities in general. Melbourne just happens to be a city.

A night out sounds... possible. As long as it doesn't involve music so loud it stops me from thinking. :)
In the city somewhere? I live on the eastern side - anything between the hills and the CBD is workable IMO.

There is going to be philosophical discussion and exuberant drinking, and I'm missing it due to the footling obstacle of 12,000 miles distance. Damn.
My UK meet-up idea seems to have died a death, fuck that I need to migrate to Australia or New Zealand (is there a difference?).

Yeah I'm not into loud noises either.
Another suggestion - there's a lane off Lonsdale or La Trobe that has live jazz music outside, then cafes and whatever on the footpath. I've walked past it several times, but never sat down.

Dude, you'll give us performance anxiety!

It's like Pepsi and Coke. Or the Saturn V and the N1, except one hasn't blown up yet, or something.

That would be hardware lane and it's right out the front of the golden monkey, congratulations you have just nominated the venue ;)
