Where are the facts to back up the hypothesis that non-INTPs are cluttering up the forum?

What is the posts per day for non-INTPs compared to INTPs?

How many INTPs would constitute a quorem for voting non-INTPs out?

What are the number of views for threads started by non-INTPs compared to threads started by INTPs? And for Replies?

What is the definition for an Active user?

What is the ratio of non-INTP users to INTP users?

Why don't you go collect the data and get back to us. Thanks in advance.

Why don't you think before you do, next time. Thanks in advance.

I was assuming Admins and Moderators had the ability to run queries and could obtain the answers more easily than me manually coming up with this information.

Perhaps you are just making a judgment about there being too many Nons here. The questions posed would be helpful. Isn't there an efficient way for an Admin to answer them?

Such power struggles, its too J ish. Since when do intp's get into power struggles?

The fact is that more and more people are joining all the time, and back in the day when there were a handful of intps it was just ... really neat. Kind of sad that its being so saturated now. The ONE moderator we used to have did a great job. Never had to babysit anyone, because there were no issues. People acted like adults. I can't really comprehend all the games going on now, its no longer like an intp board.

I think the problem is, that the group is too big now. With too many members, there is no 'intimacy'. Why do people insist on being dramatic, controlling, backbiting, and ugly instead of being seeing this as a place to talk, a place to compare, and learn.

What is so good about 'power'. I wish it were back to the way it was, its really going down hill now.

Birdsnest,

The situation here is just like real life. I came here with the idea that I could really learn more about myself as an INTP by listening to other INTPs. Truth is, INTPs are not any more introspective and reflective on their circumstances than any other type. I have found a few interesting people here, some older and some younger ones, but most are just like people in real life--just different.

Sometimes a thread like the Mindmates one, now a Classic, comes along and it makes the filtering through the drivel threads worth it.

I've also found that PMing the posters I prefer has been more successful than posting directly on the forum. The best friend I've made here doesn't even post here anymore. But I can email that person and have a better conversation than most threads ever posted here. So coming here was worth it for that connection.

If an Admin or a Mod says something I agree with, I will probably post my agreement. For the most part, I don't agree with what they say and I don't believe they speak for the majority. I appreciate their hard work and dedication to keeping this site running. I certainly don't have the time available to do their jobs.

Like real life, yes, no longer a sanctuary. Most of the mods are now power mongers. Its wacko. Everything going in a million directions, with a million different egos needing different strokes. Definitely like the real world. But, sure, I appreciate their work, its just that its likely twisted now.

Now there is a concept among intps that they believe they need to be 'evil' to be a T. That is so false. That is so corrupt. That is so J.

If you could go back to see the way people posted on the original board, you might see how everyone kept it to really contributing something. The original intps were like that friend you speak of, and that is really lucky to be able to connect like that.

Thats all, didn't mean to derail your thread.

LOL. All are welcome here.

Besides I don't think my thread made it onto the rails.

What is this, some sort of J forum where we keep a bunch of records and shit? Maybe we could start to collect some of that info, but I think it might take weeks or months to compile something statistically significant. I can answer a couple of questions, though. If you scroll down to the bottom of the main forum page and look at the INTP Central statistics section, you see a quantity for Active Members. I think that number represents the number of people who have posted in the past 90 days. It may just be the number of people who have signed in in the last 90 days, though, in which case it isn't that useful, because it includes all the people who sign up but then never show back up (and maybe even all the spammers who sign up and get instantly banned... I don't know). If I have a personal definition of active user, I'd say someone who has signed in multiple times within the last month.

I also have some old data for members by type. This is from a few months ago but, as of then, 325 people claimed to be non-INTP, 1096 claimed to be INTP and 1108 had no type listed. If you discard the untyped people as being mostly people with incomplete profiles (generally indicative of someone who made an account but never participated much) and, for those that weren't, having the same INTP to non-INTP ratio as the people who filled their types in, then you see that ~23%, or nearly 1/4, of all members here are non-INTPs. That it not trivial and not ignorable.

I think you meant "are we an S forum". Sometimes, to prove a point it is necessary to have some data.

Unless you are channeling Al Gore.

Roughly 15 out of the top 60 posters are non-INTPs. Thus, about 15/60 or 1/4 of the posts made by the top 60 posters were made by non-INTPs. No, it's not exact, but it's pretty close to the figure cited above.
