Hey, I don't really want to introduce myself yet. I'd rather hang out and test the waters a little before I jump in, but what if I find something interesting and I can't resist replying? Then I'd have to come back and do this. By then I'd forget what I wanted to say.

So, I'm Heather, 34 years old. I'm am INFJ, easy on the J. I've been married to an INTP, Don for 12 years and we have four kids that I stay home with.

I like to read, mostly novels. I like movies. That's all I can think of right now.

I will think just that, until you prove me wrong. Zedo has way too much NF experience to give one the benefit of the doubt. ;P I've just discovered I like talking about myself in the third person. *plans to do it often*

I'd still nearly prefer NFs to only have the option to post "Yr smart" or "I wuv you," always.

Hi Heather, welcome.
What does your husband do for a living?

Right now he's driving a truck. He started driving over the road in March and he just got a local route last month.

He's done lots of other things. Factory work, managing a mailroom, security, and his favorite, tech support.

He has a BA in Biblical Studies and is halfway through his masters in the same major. He wants to finish it, but he's taking a break to get us in a better financial situation.

So, I guess he's an over-qualified truck driver.

And thanks for the welcome. :)

Welcome Heather - there's no obligation to introduce yourself, but it's nice that you did. Gives us the opportunity to say hi. :)

It's funny to me that I just read jimbowley's intro, asking if there were other over-thirties :D NGene thoughtfully wrote the definition of these forums, so that, yes, INFJ belong, too, who join. :hello:

I really stink with birthdays. I know when they all are, I just don't always know what day it is. Maybe when my kids are older I'll do better. I'm more of the free counseling and advice phone service for family and friends type, I guess. My ENFP mom always does something for birthdays, last minute of course. Our SJs remember the birthdays in advance and make the appropriate plans.

Uh oh, are we old ones in the minority here? Guess I'll have to hide my cane, shawl, and rocker so I don't stand out. ;)

Ya made me look. Maybe it's an invasion. Of old people.

I'm glad it's okay for me to hang out here. I generally like INTPs, the ones I know online, the few I've met IRL, and my husband, of course.

Well don't hide it from me, please. I like having ages around, no matter what they are, if not to give perspective and humility. I've been acting like I've forgotten what it's like to be a kid lately, and it's always comforting - to me - to read some hindsight from the experienced.

I'm also glad we've got some (rare?) INFJ's around.

:)

He's welcome to win. It's one of the few pleasures in the life of a nasty person. If I observe later that he's worth discussing things with, I'll give him another chance. There are enough jerks IRL without spending time playing with them online. We shall see.

I'm glad you like INFJs, I'll make an effort not to prove myself the exception. :D

Okay, but I really only have an electric heater pointed at my feet, a cheap office chair, and a keyboard. I wanted a glider rocker when my kids were babies, but we never got one. Now the kids would be really insulted if I tried to rock them, so what would be the point?

Hmm...we got a glider last week, for de'fetus due next month. What glider would you have gotten?

And I'd sit in my mom's glider reading a book to my kid, if she had one. And I was visiting my parents.

<edit> You could always try to rock them for the humour. :) </edit>

Congrats on your coming attraction!

I think I would have been happy with any cheap old glider that was clean. We just never seemed to have the money. I almost think my nine-year-old INFP girl would let me rock her. I think my lap might go numb pretty quick, though. Maybe after we move to a bigger place I'll hunt one down. It might be a nice place to read.

I'm surprised you stink at birthdays, I was sure that was so 'T'. You sound just like me with regards to birthdays. I concur with the remark about SJ's. My SJ mother-in-law puts us all to shame. And my SJ daughter at 8 is a remarkable planner of important events. The presents, flowers, party list, menu, activities are listed and planned weeks in advance.
Definitely don't hide the cane, I think it's great to have a few older voices on this forum.

Sometimes I think my absent minded guy is rubbing off on me, or it could be the ADD. The meds are supposed to start working in a few weeks.

My kids are dd#1-11, dd#2-9, ds#1-8, ds#2-6. We're going into an even year so the girls will be 12 and 10 soon. I can hardly believe it.

LOL, my INTP hubby fathered them all and he's almost a year younger than I am. Theory is that young kids really don't need a lot of money to be happy, so it's better to be poor when they're little. Other point, it's usually pretty easy to conceive when you're young. If you have ferility issues the earlier you know, the better. Sometimes if you wait to have kids, it's too late. And I admit that I am vain enough that I wanted to have them all before I was thirty in hopes of keeping my figure without a lot of effort.

We are also both very spacey and apparently very fertile.

Anyway, they keep us busy and out of trouble.

Welcome.

One of my dearest friends is an INFJ and really like every INFJ I have ever met.

You have at him if ya wanna. Been around that block enough to bother with it. I've read some of his other posts. Some of them are human, usually not the ones to Fs, though. Usually it's INTJs that are particularly prejudiced in that way, but INTPs take potshots sometimes, too.

If you're not an F, try creating an F shill and play the game if you want to. Could be an interesting experiment and experience.

I can take him off my ignore list later if I decide he's worth it.
