Out of curiosity: What are the last five movies that everyone has seen, not including ones you'd seen before? Any comments are appreciated, too.

Me:

Les Diabolique
Memento
Cowboy Bebop the movie
Bowling for Columbine
The Day After Tomorrow

All of which I enjoyed.

In a theater:
1. Manchurin Candidate (The Denzel One) It was hard for me not to compare it to the first in my head. Going with a couple of people with short attention spans didn't help either.
2. Catwoman - Beware when anyone offers you anything for free.
3. Spiderman II - loved the visualization of self doubt and inner conflict. :)
4. Ferenheit 9/11 - I laughed... I cried... :(
5. Crap, I can't remember

On cable/DVD:
1. The Red Dragon - Part of the Hannibal Lecter series. I'd forgotten what an amazing actress Emily Watson can be. =P Just little things she does so well. Only time she's missed was when she was upstaged in Hilary & Jackie.
2. Brotherhood of the Wolf - French film with stunt crew that did Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon. A little over-rated.
3. Freaky Friday - The new one. Forgotten what a great actress Jamie Lee Curtis is. Overall I thought it was pretty endearing.
4. Pumpkin - Satire. I had read the script for this a little over a year ago, maybe two, and was surprised that with its tone and subject matter I never heard anything about it until well after it's release because it was so borderline poor taste. But no one put up a stink. Some amazing edge that I knew would've taken great direction to pull it off without looking stupid or being heavy handed. I couldn't make it through it very far. Instead of playing it straight, they tried to act like it was supposed to be a comedy. (where's the smilie face that goes gag?) Looking forward to seeing the movie version of "Strangers With Candy." I'm sure I'll be on the floor crying half way through.
5. Freddy vs. Jason - Didn't make it through this one either. This is what happens when you let bankers greenlight films.

1. Blue Man Group, "The Complex" Rock Tour
2. Willow (for the umpteenth time)
3. I, Robot
4. The Ninth Gate
5. Bowling for Columbine

I don't go to see movies very often- too expensive- and hardly ever does a movie come out that I want to see.

The last 5 movies I've seen in theatres (that I can remember):

1. I, Robot
2. Harry Potter: PoA (which was ok because it was gloomier than the others)
3. LotR: RotK
4. Matrix: Revolutions
5. Matrix: Reloaded

1. Wings of Desire (for the upteenth time, but it's my favorite)
2. Punch Drunk Love (an engaging twist on Adam Sandler's trademark comedic style)
3. The Usual Suspects (with the usual ending, but still a fun ride)
4. Lost in Translation (a tastefully paced blend of jet lag and loneliness)
5. Farenheit 9/11 (moral: we're all in this world together, for both good and ill)

5. Harry Potter

1. Spiderman II - better than I figured. not a comic book fan.
2. Shrek 2 - sucked royally. took my younger brother to see it. I don't get the big deal about it, the storyline is overdone and the jokes are moronic.
3. Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban - good stuff :)
4. Cold Mountain - eh, okay. I like Jude Law, but I wouldn't watch it again.
5. Lost in Translation - very good

1. Ju on: the Grudge
2. Dark waters
(these was actually a bit scary even though horror movies rarely manage to scare me anymore, maybe I haven't gotten used to the horror effects in japanese movies like I have to the most Hollywood stuff, which usually makes me laugh rather than scream)
3. Lost in Translation
4. Mystic River
5. Secret Window

-Fahrenheit 9/11 (could've been very good, but it was too one sided)
-Harry Potter 3 (better than the previous two, but still not as good as I hoped it would be)
-Return of the King (very good, Peter Jackson deserves a statue for even *daring* to put the book on screen)
-Return of the King (so I went twice...)
-have no idea, way too long ago, if only kinepolis didn't ask so much money for watching one single movie!

You all will think I am sick in the head, but I can't remember the last 5 movies I saw, I haven't seen any yet this year.....well maybe, I saw "Closer" recently, last year I think. The emotional brutality and confusion was disturbingly familiar. I think prior to that I saw "Team America" 'cause my goofy brother dragged me to it.

Now in absolute terms I did semi-watch 3 movies to/from Paris, they are ironically related to the prior two, they showed "Sky Captain" on the way to New York, and while I wanted to see "Kinsey" on the way to Paris, I keep watching my bro's screan with "Alfie" on it till I gave up and watched it myself(it was kinda funny). Then on the way home, the main channel was playing Team America, of all things! (from Paris no less!). Which was odd since in the opening scene Paris is blown up by stupid well meaning Americans. I can't say I watched much of it, once was enough, besides I had the whole plane's supply of Moet to myself and that was much more interesting than a puppet movie.

I did just get cable again this week after amost a year of no TV, I am starting to remember why I got rid of ti last time.......:(

I watched 'Motorcycle Diaries' with great enjoyment the other day on DVD. Although I thought the social/political dimensions were dealt with in a slightly shallow way, on a human level the movie was striking (especially depictions of the leper colony and the impact it had on the two protagonists of the movie).

The fact that it had remained faithful to the diaries was also moving and significant. All round, a great movie.

4. Reservoir Dogs (yes, I am behind the times)
