No one has to work because a method of harfesting "free engery" has been perfected. Computers grow food organically and a few people that enjoy it as a hobby in the actual field. Everything has been perfected to the point that everything is made to be perfect from the very essence of the molecules.

No one has to work and simply does what they like, there is free living accomidations if you want.

There is no such thing as genetic diseases and people live to an average age of 260. (men 240, women women 280)

Mars has been colonized and life created there from scratch with the life recipe that was discovered in 3998 AD by Ahiiiel bur Mclikken (an INTP).

Lava lamps are still popular and cats are still adored as pets (genetically puurfect and of course there is the option of having a "perma-kitty".)

Human bodies are morphable in some weird way and crime is unneeded, as anyone can have anything in their personal holodeck.

Alians have been confirmed (2901 A.D.) but direct contact has not been made as for the distances involved.

All raw materials are mined from a comet that has been diverted and ecology is in its absolute natural state.

Wings are avaiable for humans to grow (and ungrow the same day).

Overalls have made a comeback and are the fashion of the moment.

Art is at an all time high and google still exists, but the the nth degree.

hats are still worn on "retro feeling days"; it is a turn on for some.

emotions are designable and things are groovy.

......

well, not likely, but it is a possibility.... as is anything else really:D

the earth becomes a class three civilization from the help of an alien species. the humans then enslave and kill said aliens inorder to embark on a quest to rule the universe. humans happen upon a bigger badder species out there who in turn enslave and kill humans on their quest to control the universe.

I believe that by that time there will be an all out introvert revolution, unfortuneately we will be vastly outnumbered by an extroverted population at which point the extroverts will destroy us all.

PAH, intraverts can ACT like extraverts so they merge with teh extravert societies and commit brilliant acts of terrorism and other espianage activities.

Windows 4834 released... people are talking of it as the killer to the huge, buggy and bloated, monopolised LinuX 10.8.3...

Later they found out that even Windows 4834 had a bug
So they released a patch the next year and promised a better oncoming OS next time
(windows(R) xp(R) 4384 ?!?)

And...
SJ's and SP's arent allowed to vote, because the flaw in democracy had been discovered.

the earth would be so populated if everyone lived 260 years. but then, there'd be better birth control methods. and we can live on marz.

i am studied in history class as an ancient great philosopher.

Most unlikely, any species more violent and insane than ours would never survive their atomic age.

Ha, if the Earth was part of universal community, I wonder if we would be the equivalent of third world counrty.

I have often thought that if aliens did come to Earth
they would not be invaders as in many sci-fi stories but more probably the equivalent of missionaries or the intergalactic red cross.

It is possible that we would meet an insanely powerful pacifist species that would wipe us out in the interests of preserving peace.

This is freaky. I had the same idea. With the insane growth of technology
and the military industrial complex breeding like a cancer, the coming artificial
lifeforms that will supersede us will in all likelyhood be violent and a potential threat to other life forms in space.

Therefore they will destroy us before our violent AI offspring pose a threat to extraterrestrial life.

Shai Gar
5 Mar 2005, 03:56 AM
or they will simply destroy the lot of us for failing to wipe out those who build up the army and for allowing the corruption to spread throughout society without armed interferrence

The earth will be endagered by a rip in the universe that is layered upon other universes like a stack of paper. This rip will spew ginus matter that is heading directly for our galaxy.

The Retonians will send a missile to the Earth to transform a human being into a global energy being, like themselves, who has the knowledge and power to help human kind move the earth and 20 other "living planets" to safety.

And guess who the missile hits.:D

Yep! And I get to "fix" everything that is wrong in the world, bring world peace, end hunger, etc. and turn Shai Gar into a wubby, wubby, wubby, bear.

Artifical ESP is created in 2090 using nanotechnology and wireless internet.
The first time machine is invented in 2200, ironically powered by a flux capacitator
Time travel begins in 2202 and signifies the end of linear time.

Shai Gar
6 Mar 2005, 05:53 AM
no, that concept is impossible. linear time could not end like that, if linear time were to exist at any point throughout history then it could not be ended by time travel. the concept of time travel back and fowards throughout time would mean that time as a foward and backwards concept becomes void.

(i am having trouble getting this across though i know what i mean.)

plus if time travel were to exist at any time through history then it would be extreemly apparent to everyone from the beginings of recorded history.

close ...

The first time machine is invented in 2200, ironically powered by a flux capacitator
but I bet 'flux capacitor's will probably be a good (but poorly named) replacement for tubes and a 'time machine' will be a 6 stringed instrument for playing Stairway to Heaven in a Mars University campus music store.

I think it's obvious that time machines haven't been invented in the future because no one's come back in time yet! (although you might argue..why would they want to? ....shut up)

Maybe time machines will allow one to travel to any point in time/space, except for those that do not have time machines. Therefore, you can't travel to a point before the first time machine was invented.

(sets up potential back to the future reference)

Perhaps it's like trying to drive where there are no roads.

1. On alien species: I think they would be more like parents than the red cross trying to help us grow out of childhood.
2. On time travel: If time were thought of as an infinite series of points that could be approached but not reached then we could approximate the past but not have the ability to visit the actual past.

What I think is far more likely is this human engineering will increase in popularity in this rough pattern.

Plastic Surgery
Transplants using human parts
Transplants using animal/plant parts or gene modification
Transplants using synthetic parts
Pure energetic modification (if we ever develop the ability)

Eventually the description of what is human will be broadened to the point that it is gibberish. A synthetic race born of the above methods will replace humans (because the production of humanity via biological means would be too slow compared to other methods). On that day humanity will have done what Nietzsche always wanted it to do. Surpass itself.
