It's kind of a fun site. It has the MBTI test in a card game, and a bunch of cartoon representations of types.

Shit. :stupid: At least I didn't type cite.
Well, it is also a slightly interesting sight as well.

It's bugged though. I got INFJ even though I had mostly T cards.

That's funny... considering how basic the program is.
I got what I expected to get. (And that's one problem with the test -- it proceeds through the four function pairs in a very specific and obvious order, with the same function appearing first each time in each set, and even has each side of the card labeled so you know exactly what the question tests for (!). Might be good for LEARNING the MBTI but not very good for TESTING for it...)

Although we do SEE them. :D

Must have made a typo and linked INTJs to the INFJ profile. Not that I'm an INTJ either, but like you said, the test wasn't in a good format for accuracy.
Are the J question skewed toward SJ or is it just me?

You mean the ones like "I rarely change my mind once it is made up", "I make snap judgments without considering possibilities", and "being a stickler for schedules and commitments"? Yeah. Some of the questions seemed too extreme.
I didn't like a lot of the S/N questions either.

I got too bored too quickly, I didn't even make it out of the E/I questions...

I don't think it's just you. Usually my P and J scores are more balanced, with a slight P lead. In this test it was a P landslide, which never happens. They seemed to emphasize the organizing side of Judging more than the goal side. NJs seem more goal oriented and SJs more oriented towards organizing their environment.

lol, I think I answered yes on those, it was more the stuff about organizing and planning that got me. I usually have a pretty good idea what I'm trying to accomplish and what I need to do in order to get it done, but I don't make detailed plans and lists unless I must.

That's what I was thinking, too. I know I'm borderline, but I am also pretty sure that I'm not a strong P.

Yeah, me too.

It was a landslide for everything for me too (all but one for I, all for N, T, and P, though I know I'm not *that* strong on T and P).
One of the I/E sets bugged me:
I: I often leave meetings or gatherings wishing I had expressed my viewpoint.
E: I often leave meetings or gatherings wishing I hadn't talked so much.
I always leave thinking the latter, no matter how little I talked. Talking at all is talking too much for me.

I got INFJ as well and I only got like one F card. It must cater towards SJs. The cartoon with the NT walking on the grass on front on the "Do not walk on grass" sign reminded me of myself.

Hello everyone,
Thanks for your input! I am a the co-developer of the game, and your comments are helpful. I'll be the first to agree, no test is perfect. I'll have the programmer look into the scoring irregularities. The Flash game has been up for about two weeks now, so we're still working the bugs out.
As for the items in the game and the overall design, the Flash game is an adaptation of our original board game developed in 1990. The items are the same from the original game. There is more specific info on the reasons behind the game design and the validation study--click on MBTI compared to the Insight Game.
I think one of the main philosophies behind allowing the test taker to see what their choices are is bring them into the process of determining their type from the beginning. The game can help the test taker begin to understand what the preferences mean. If they come up split on two or more types, let them read both profiles and decide. Our original board game was better able to do this in some respects because you could hold all the cards in your hands.
For all of us who already know our personality type and are very familiar with the preferences, we can pick out what the test item (E/I, S/N, etc) is looking for anyway--regardless of whether or not the game tells us what the letter is.
Please keep the comments coming! If you see other errors, please let me know. About 700 people are playing the game a day already, so I'd like for there to be as few bugs as possible.
Cheers,
Michael RoBards, MS, CSW

Extreme I result, with only one extrovert card (on target)
Strong N result, with only two sensor cards (this was a weak area in the test; I didn't care for the questions)
Weak T result with five T cards, four F cards (semi-accurate, I'm about 6/4, not 5/4)
Super P result with no J cards. (not really accurate, I'm a moderate P)

E=2 | S=3 | T=8 | P=9
I=7 | N=6 | F=1 | J=0
Overall, seems fairly accurate, and oh my, what a large P-ness...
Ok, sorry, lame overused joke.

Yeah, I'm usually more like 70/30 for P/J. I think many of the questions tended towards false dichotomies, especially on the S/N and P/J axes.

i got ENTP quite easily, as usual, so for me it was quite accurate.
the only problem i saw with it was the huge letters on the cards telling you what your letter will be as you go along.
i'd have liked it better if the cards had something else on them other than the letters.

One of the S/N questions was: "People see me as: practical (S) or creative (N)".
Well, I think I'm both, but it really feels to me that my "practical-ness" comes from my T (and not my reclusive S). Or maybe I have a different interpretation of "practical" than the test designer...
Anybody else feel similarly?

That would certainly increase the site's participation numbers...
