I was searching for resources the other night (the school server is down, again, and the book doesn't even go in chronological order, so...) and I came across http://www.salemwitchtrials.com/history/index.htm

It has, very possibly, everything you need to know separated into the correct units.

I got a D. I read about ten pages of the book, but I liked the teacher's lectures.

I got back a 25 question multiple choice test today. Even though I did the test with a partner one day, using multiple books and I took it home to research all the questions, found the correct answers, memorized them, then asked two of my friends who both got A's on it about anything I had a problem with, I still managed to get an 88 on my test, because I'm an idiot who forgot the answers.
It wouldn't be so bad, but I have a 4.5 gpa (I don't really care, but it's still there) and we only have two grades in the class so far...

I got an A... and don't you "nerd" me. It's great when the teacher goes on a random lecture and doesn't notice me in the back listening to my trusty mp3 player.

I took the AP US History Exam about 10 years ago. I remember that our proctors at the exam were so clueless and disorganized that nearly everyone was able to trade answers on the multiple choice questions after the time was up.

Nerds! I'm so cool I didn't care about grades enough to cheat.

indeed, nice to know an american thinks of their culture as an empire, at least someone is honest with themselves.

and what does the AP mean

Advanced Placement. Speaking of empires, I just bought a book today called Crossing the Rubicon: The Decline of the American Empire at the End of the Age of Oil. Not your typical novella.

Hmmm... The unit one link is bad. It should link to http://www.salemwitchtrials.com/history/1600-1763.htm

I loved AP US History, but I didn't do so hot on the AP test. I really like learning about history, but I have a hard time remembering all the little details...

The reason I loved Religious Studies in college is that I could entertain my enjoyment of history, but it was the ideas/philosophies/overarching movements that were focused on, rather than battles and campaigns and economic trends and all that. N much? Why yes...

I wish I had continued my involvement with History, it would have been an interesting subject to take to University. Ahh well.

I'm with Eileen on being far more interested in the background than the detail.

For that reason I find 'Guns, Germs and Steel' a good read on this stuff by Jared Diamond. Big(ger) picture stuff!
