To succeed, we need open third-party matching, because this is introvertland and most of the members would never directly respond to a personal ad.

Okay, new game! Do you like someone and wonder if they like you too?

Here's the plan: Send me a PM with their screename. If two members have sent me the other's name, they will each get a private notification that they have been matched up. This does not mean you need to limit your choices. You can pick as many people as you want.

Remember, your crush will NOT be disclosed if no interest in you is shown by the other party.

Posting about your successful match-up here will then be up to you.

Let the match-ups begin!!

Of course, you're safe from having to defend yourself on that point, because you can't without disregarding INTPc policy. Nice.

Gee, wouldn't it be awesome to know that some random person that I've never met, and will probably never meet is sitting in front of their computer on the other side of the world pining away fro the persona I present on an anonymous Internet forum?

Ok, I obstreperously wrote all that before I remembered that I still regularly chat on the phone with someone that I met on another forum over 6 years ago.( and still have never met in person)

Put me down for a match with anybody who has had their ancestry tainted by the inclusion of Mug Blood.

You could probably help out some of the more desperate nerdy guys on here if you would just compile and post a list of the females who post on a semi regular basis. Said desperate nerds could then PM you that list on the off chance that one of the listed members had inquired about them. I think this might grease the wheels a bit with this thing.

So if I were to manually list all of the names, it'd be fine? I mean, you did say that we can list as many names as we want...

I see no reason to slink about in the dark like a beaten dog!! Lets get this out in the light.

Madrigal,
Your ebony locks are like heroin to me. Ever since I joined this forum, you have intoxicated me by your mere presence. I cant keep this bottled up any longer. You and only you, are the woman of my dreams; so sophisticated and worldly, and yet you temper this with a proletarian earthiness which only makes you all the more desirable. You can be so strong and cold, yet underneath that sexy exterior all I see is a ,soft, ultra-feminine, beautiful young woman, yielding and yearning to be held. Its true that I don't hold communists in the highest esteem, but this is because of the time that I spent in China seeing the misery of socialism in practice. Your staunch idealism only makes me want to salute you all the more. Dreams of you in in the sultry latin air superheat my blood and make me think of the nights we will spend together doing the tango clothed in nothing but your radiant pair of ruby slippers.

They should totally break this state into at least four pieces:

Southern
Northern
Central
San Francisco

My grandfather lived his entire life in this state, only leaving a few times for work, military service, and to see family. He claimed that everything worth seeing in the world occurs somewhere in California.

Don't worry too much--you are at least still beneath my lofty threshold of recognition, most of the time.

However, there's an undeniable connection here that is crying to be expressed. The world itself may crumble to pieces if you two remain apart. As a sometimes fan of the world, I'd prefer that if it were to shatter, it would be by at a time and by a method of my choosing.

So submit to the rule of the mob, or force someone like Wolf to start up an arranged marriage service thread.

Now THAT would be a thread!

How would we run it?

I suppose take applicants for a certain predetermined amount of time and then when we have a sufficient pool of participants we make the matches. Ill join.

They should totally break this state into at least four pieces:

Southern
Northern
Central
San Francisco

My grandfather lived his entire life in this state, only leaving a few times for work, military service, and to see family. He claimed that everything worth seeing in the world occurs somewhere in California.

Major points for including Central. Official census-type shit never does, which irritates me to no end for some reason.

If lots of people are being named that have not played, perhaps game invitations should be sent around. In addition, it might be safer to qualify Hot Dates versus Not Dates... that way, intellectual love can blossom, too. Trust me, your game is good--promote it, INTPc. Cheers to the OP!

I'll have to agree that California is probably the best state when it comes to variety. I moved across the country for a few years and am definitely happiest here.

I have mixed feelings about LA, but I like it more than any other city I've been to so far. Great weather, tons of stuff to do, lots of interesting jobs, but polluted, crowded and expensive. It's huge, and I really only go to a few of the areas in west LA regularly. I've only been to east LA a couple of times to shady parties, and also generally avoid the downtown area. I associate those places more with the razor wire and 'fucked up' stuff.

You guys are awfully ignorant about the Hmong. So, it's time for a cultural lesson to address this informational deficiency you have. The Hmong are one of the oldest cultures in the world, tracing their heritage back to before 3000 BC. They migrated out of Iran in prehistoric times, through Mongolia and Central Asia, and ended up in the Yellow River in China right around the 4000 - 3000 BC mark, where they were the first people in the area to cultivate rice (and arguably the first ever people to cultivate rice). In 2700, they were attacked by the Chinese under the Xia dynasty and, refusing to assimilate or be subjugated, were driven ever southward over the centuries, into what is now the Kweichow province of China, where they remained in remote areas, free from Chinese meddling for a while. It was here where the Chinese erected a lesser-known wall, the Hmong Wall, along the Kweichow-Hunan border, to keep them away from the growing boundaries of Chinese civilization.

Eventually during the Qing dynasty, the Hmong were driven from Kweichow, through Yunnan and into Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand, which is where most are found today. During their stay in southern China, they became divided into multiple groups, named for the color/design of the traditional clothing the women wear, the best known being white, green, red, black, big flower and little flower. It is speculated that the Chinese attempted to enforce a color scheme for each separate tribe in the area to wear so as to create an artificial divide between the people, though the origins of the different colors for different Hmong tribes is unknown.

How did the Hmong end up in Minnesota? During the Vietnam war, there was another war going on in Laos, known as the secret war. The Vietcong was in cahoots with the Laotian communist party, the Pathet Lao. The CIA was on the forefront of trying to organize people against the Pathet Lao, fearing that a communist Laos would only hasten the growth of communism in the region, making the Vietcong that much harder to stop in Vietnam. In the northern areas of Laos, where the terrain was hilly, rugged, and remote, there were many hill tribes who were not of Laotian ethnicity, and who had no love for their Laotian neighbors, chief among them the Hmong. The Hmong agreed to assist the American efforts in Laos at stopping the Pathet Lao from taking over the country. They fought for years, assisting the Americans with firepower and with routes through Laos but, ultimately, the American efforts in Southeast Asian failed, and the Pathet Lao took over the government of Laos. The Americans left, and the Hmong were forced to flee the country, across the border into Laos and up into the remote Laotian hills so as not to face reprisal from the Laotians. Those who were caught were killed. The Hmong survivors and refuges in Thailand and Laos petitioned the American government for asylum, and it was granted. Thus, over the years following the Vietnam War hundreds of thousands of Hmong immigrated to America, many of whom ended up in Wisconsin and Minnesota on account of the favorable policies those states had toward poor, unemployable refugees, and on account of missionary work to save the Hmong from certain death at the hands of the Pathet Lao originating from those areas.

Today, the Hmong are one of the less illustrious, less known ethnicities in America. Having come from an ancient culture and being from among the poorest group in one of the world's poorest countries, they've had far more trouble assimilating into American society than others, and so they often get a bad rap on account of that. Most of the Hmong are still in Southeast Asia and southern China, though the Hmong in Laos are still persecuted by the Laotians today, and are still fleeing to refugee camps in Thailand. In the 80s and 90s, a few more waves of Hmong refugees were granted asylum in America. Today, the Hmong are having a hard time getting into America because, under provisions of the Patriot Act, they are classified as terrorists, despite having fought for the Americans in the Secret War, which led to the conflicts and violence they now face and defend themselves against with such acts of "terrorism."

So, Wolf, the Hmong aren't here in America because some socialist thinks they ought to be. They're in America because they assisted the CIA in fighting against socialism in the form of the Vietcong-backed Pathet Lao and were granted asylum so as to save them from a reprisal of mass slaughter when the Americans failed in their objectives in Southeast Asia and had to pull out.

In the 80s and 90s, a few more waves of Hmong refugees were granted asylum in America. Today, the Hmong are having a hard time getting into America because, under provisions of the Patriot Act, they are classified as terrorists, despite having fought for the Americans in the Secret War, which led to the conflicts and violence they now face and defend themselves against with such acts of "terrorism."

interesting read, but my point remains since so many Hmong moved from CA to MN in the 90s. (though granted, I neglected to mention the first wave)

Back in 1979 my mother divorced and we moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. We were poor and buying a pair of designer pants or a pair of baggies was out of the question. As a desirable pair of pants back then in 1979 actually cost the same if not more than a pair today. We couldn't afford the sky jackets that were all the rage back then either.

The white kids in the Eau Claire school system were snotty, superficial and purposely mean. When a staff member at the school was taking me around and orientating me to my new school she introduced me to Bee Vang, when we saw each other both our eyes lit up. We became best friends right off the bat. Being American Indian I happened to look an awful lot like the Hmong.

They were always very kind and accepting.

theres nothing wrong in going public with my list;

I just saw the intpcentral photo gallery (http://www.washeswhiter.com/intpcentralgallery/intpcentralgallery.php) and would like to say that Atilla the hunny is adorable. April has the "I just want to please you" kinda look. Geminixox looks like she have been listening to that song "dont you wish your girlfriend was hot like me" so many times. And yes i do wish my girl was a little bit hotter.

Ok..... this is officially unfair, Madrigal. I know withholding information is a power trait for INTPs, but if we all agree that once a match is made that the 2 parties be notified via pm...

And being a true asshole, I'd blurt out who they were if the game allowed it, but alas that would ruin the entire game effect of this thread. But hints....hints I think are good...

Actually it occurs to me that if you dig around for a while there is a thread where you just declare your INTPc crush. Seems like its a lot easier that way. I declared my crush for digesthisickness in that thread. I dont remember if there are any juicy parts, but you might just goto that thread.

While I don't think of it as a joke, or feel bad for people who take it seriously, I do think that it would be much more awkward if I were matched with someone rather than just doing it normally. What would I say if I were matched? "Oh hey, look at that, you're attracted to me, too! So, should we go through all the normal relationship steps, or skip right to the sex?" It just seems like it would flow better the conventional way.

Of course, since I am not really attracted to anyone on this forum, and have never been in a relationship, and am too fucked up right now to even handle a relationship properly, I guess I'm not exactly an expert on this.
