View Full Version : Need help with Tattoo

So, on my left shoulder I have a tattoo of the grim repeat with "salvation" written under it. It is from my darker/depressed days.
It doesn't really apply anymore... (in the context that it did before)
I hope to shift the context of the tattoo by adding two more tattoo's on my back.
On the right I hope to add something like a tree, symbol of life. However, it Must be somewhat analytical. I was thinking something like planks constant + e=mc2 + pi + other constant/equations I can get my hands on, all written out to outline a tree.
in the middle/lower back I'll have a buddha or some yin/yang type of concept to signify balance.
The right one (life/natural/analytical) one is the one I need help on, I have a very abstract idea in my head. Almost impossible to draw or slap it on paper. Any suggestions of ideas/content/methods?
thnx
You can find some stylized images of the kabbalah's tree of life (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sephirot) on the interwebs. I'm sure it will also endear you with fans of Final Fantasy.

And here I was hoping this was a Herve Villechaize tribute thread...

I was kinda hoping he was trying to date a faux-teenaged lesbian Russian girl band.

maybe you should put a backslash between teenaged and lesbian, or switch the order, so no one thinks the "faux" only applies to the first one.
Your post is clarification enough, booyalab.
There is no : patontheheadforajobwelldone : in the smilie collection, so I hope you don't take this the wrong way: :frypan:

So... repair a mistake, with another mistake?

Well, if you are going to go through with it, on the right side, you should get the exact polar opposite of the darker and depressed days.
Get in large ivory letters "LOL" tattooed with vines and leaves growing around every which way.

Or get your type tattooed. I'm getting ENTP on my side someday.
Get a piece of pizza tattooed. Go crazy. Don't get a cliché heart or pentagram.
How about a tattoo of Al Gore and a huge wave about to wash over his head from the melting polar ice caps?
Also I'm getting 1000101 (69 in binary) and whatever 666 is, also in binary, probably on my wrists.
I will never get a serious tattoo.

it took me a LONG time to figure out what symbol would best represent the abstract ideas in my head on my body. i would suggest keeping your original ideas in mind while looking for symbols or things that are specific to you. i looked at stories and symbols associated with. take your time. it will be on your body forever (unless you're a puss and decide to get it removed later :))

I've always been a fan of sacred geometry. Here is the Metatron Cube and 5 Platonic Solids on my right leg:

I may get a Tree of Life/Seed of Life at some point, but I think my next set might be the symbols for the 7 chakras. IMO, you can't go wrong with sacred geometry. I know I love mine. Or, you can always go with something cute like my Princess Zelda =)

It's actually a very curious string of binary digits:

OP: I like the idea of life/death. Symbols of life... creation... babies...birth...growth...happiness...chakras...light?...photons?...how about something about evolution? (even though it's creative and destructive)? something about QM? The middle could be a ying/yang, like you said, or maybe Vishnu (representing creation and destruction). I like the idea!
Or get your type tattooed. I'm getting ENTP on my side someday.
Have you really thought this through? What if you 1) realize MBTI isn't complete, could be wrong, and doesn't fully describe your essence, which defies description 2) start naturally expressing other functions (I or J would be common) 3) find a better type theory that Seahorse invents in the future?

I'm still trying to figure out what the Grim Repeat is...
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/repeat
8. to cause a slight regurgitation: The onions I ate are repeating on me.
That's pretty grim unless he meant the grim reaper who ate onions which would be even grimmer.

You know, I didn't know what Hassan Chop is... so I open up wikipedia trying to understand the context of your reply. As always distractions take over and I end up looking up "Hassan". All my life I believed Hassan to mean "Goodness/Kindness" and not being a native Arabic speaker (I'm Persian) after 23 years of living with this damn name I finally realized it means "Handsome". :stupid: :stupid: :stupid: :stupid:
Any Arabic speakers? I think Ehsaan means Kindness, right? Isn't that a form of Hassan?
