Tonight I went to the Balls (http://www.southerntheater.org/pages/balls.html) Cabaret (http://members.toast.net/prthomas/ballswbs/balls.htm). It is called Balls because the founder's last name is Leslie Ball (http://www.leslieball.com). Since Leslie was out of town in the play Last of the Red Hot Lovers (http://www.exploreminnesota.com/listing/index.cfm?id=5376) with Ari Hoptman (http://www.juniorbirdman.com/arihoptman/), the cabaret was hosted by Ochen (http://www.ochenk.com/) who works for MPR (http://minnesota.publicradio.org/).

At the end of the Balls show, I went to find my car but it had disappeared (http://www.wreckerservices.com/). How disappointing, other individuals who had their cars towed after having already called the number (http://www.google.com/search?q=612-330-0013) informed me I would be paying $225 to retrieve my car. You would think this would teach me a lesson but I don't think it taught me anything. My friend and I were now stuck in the The Corner Bar's (http://www.mplshappyhour.com/bars_detail.php?bar=42) parking lot trying to figure out what to do. Neither my friend or I have many friends so there is no one we can call at that moment.

I decide that I should headover to an ATM machine and see how much money I have in the bank even though I know I have a withdrawal limit of $200. My friend has no money either, in fact, he is pretty far in the minus and has been writing some bad checks since he can't find a job. I check the balance in my checking account, $-70.49, how strange. I would have assumed I would have had more money. According to my balance online (http://www.northstarbank.com/) which I checked a moment ago, I have $190. Where did my $260 go?? It might be because of the auto-withdrawal for my car insurance (http://www.statefarm.com/) which isn't usually more than $150-170. I call up Nathan(my friend/boss), who I know probably can't pick me up but I figure I should try anyway. He suggests I take a cab home so I withdraw $60 from my saving account which surprisingly has the correct balance.

So, I call 612-824-4444 (http://www.google.com/search?sa=X&oi=fwp&pb=f&q=612-824-4444) and am told that it would be an hour wait for a cab. An hour! Horrible. I say, I might call back later then hang up. My friend and I walk back to the Southern Theater (http://www.southerntheater.org/) to see if anyone is still there who might give us a ride. He's more of a people person than I am so I figure it's worth a shot. No one is there and the door is locked with all the lights off. So, we decide, we'll have to walk. We start walking down Cedar Ave, and then all of the sudden, a bus drives (http://www.mpta-transit.org/) by and drops someone off at a bus stop a small way away. I say out loud "We're not going to make it" .. my friend says .. "If we run we'll make it" .. I say "But I'm a pessimist, we're not going to make it." We start running and we make just as the bus starts to pull out. My friend and I get on the bus and I put $5 into the little thing that accepts the money then I'm told it doesn't give change for anything above $1. How unfortunate.

The bus only goes to Snelling and University which is close to my friend's dorm but is not close to where I need to be. We hop off the bus and make our way to his dorm. He says he'll let me borrow his bike which he doesn't usually use to finish my journey. I happily accept the offer. After we arrive at his dorm and I take a mega piss, I am shown the location of his bike and I'm off.

I haven't ridden a bike in a long time so the bike actually wobbles a little bit. I progress down Snelling Avenue with lukewarm phlegm building in my throat. I never thought I would be biking down a street at 3am but not that much surprises me. I arrive at where I need to be, which is my place of work. I work for a business startup and work in a basement. I head into the backyard and slide open the window and climb in.
As I was biking, I thought about making this post. And now that I have, I will end it.

Something cool I found on Ochen's site:

I don't know what I would say but it's in an interesting concept.

Neither did I. Now that I have read it I'll ask a few questions so you can finish your story.

1) Why did your car get towed in the first place? You say it should have taught you a lesson. Did you know in advance you were parking in a likely tow zone?

2) How much did it cost you to get your car back?

3) Do you always go to your workplace through the window or was that just because it was the middle of the night?

4) Finally, how was the Ball's show?

1 - I parked in the back of a restaurant and didn't actually eat at the restaurant. Yes, I knew.
2 - $225
3 - I've gotten into my workplace throught he window a lot but now I finally have a key
4 - I don't remember, I go almost every week.
