View Full Version : Latest bin Laden tape: Now I'm a terrorist too
cnn story (http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/09/07/binladen.tape/index.html)
Basically, bin Laden is against big corporations and blames global warming on them now too. The guy barely even seems like an Islamic fundamentalist to me, more like a radical marxist liberal islamic transcendentalist or something. I remember from his letter to Americans that he criticized the objectification of women for marketing and entertainment, so he could also be a quasi-feminist.
I have to go to work, but now that I'm a terrorist too, I think, maybe I should blow myself up?

This to my mind is evidence that he is increasingly ostracised from the real Islamist movement that is growing in Mespotamia and the Levant, along with the disaffected Muslim youth of Europe, which is now the mainspring of the movement. The Afganistani movement was destroyed by the US invasion, reducing the conflict there to warlordism and the remnants of the Taliban. Thus he is trying to retain his power by appeal to the West directly, and given that the media blasts out his every video and demonises him incessantly, it would appear they have obliged too.
I am not particularly surprised. Islam is a socialist ideology.
(I dislike the word 'socialism,' it is such a nice word to describe such a repugnant idea).

"One should pause, think and reflect," the speaker says, according to the transcript. "Why have the Democrats failed to stop this war, despite them being the majority?"
The answer to that question, he later says, is "the same reasons which led to the failure of former President Kennedy to stop the Vietnam War. Those with with real power and influence are those with the most capital. And since the democratic system permits major corporations to back candidates, be they presidential or congressional, there shouldn't be any cause for astonishment -- and there isn't any -- in the Democrats' failure to stop the war."
Holy shit, he's become an American political pundit! And a pretty good one too.
As for terrorism, al-Qaida doesn't really need to do it anymore. Bush and Cheney are doing their job for them.

Mesopotamia and the Levant...............
That would be the Middle East, north of Saudi Arabia and south of Turkey.
Reminds me of the time I labeled Anatolia as "Asia Minor" on a geography test without thinking about it....
