Personally, I find the "stars inside circles" style terrorist logos to be most visually appealing. However, if what you're going for with your terrorist logo is to truly inspire fear, there's something really menacing about the Symbionese Liberation Army logo with the many-headed snake.
The guns n' swords logos are very straightforward. If you're a terrorist trying to inspire fear, maybe you WANT people to know you're going to come after them with an AK. Hmm. It's a little too simplistic for me.
Thoughts? Favorite logos? I liked the CCC design.

For me, symbolism says a lot more than an actual depiction of a gun. I would think of a readily identifiable symbol like the swastika or even a tree to be far more identifiable and effective.

What does the tree in the OLF logo symbolize? I don't know of any symbolic links between trees and violence.

The life of the people that it represents, I believe the Palestinian flag also has a similar tree.
Symbolism over violent representation, it's much more effective - what I was talking about. A symbol is more symbolic than an actual gun as a symbol.

No, just colors. http://www.passia.org/palestine_facts/meaning_of_flag.htm
Maybe you were thinking Lebanon? Also, the Golani brigade uses an olive tree as their symbol, but that's very Israeli.

So, basically, we have remnants of Soviet propaganda art, some neo-pirate designs, and a bunch of guns, several of which look exactly the same. Also, why didn't Microsoft and Disney make the list? I'd have voted for a pixelized window any day.

Yeah, it's a Kalashnikov. It's a pretty classic and iconic weapon. That's why they chose that particular rifle. The AK-47? Even African-American gangsta rappers love them.

Re the DILF:
That reminds me of a time that I thought someone was stealing my mother-in-laws painted barrel horse, I haven't seen many horses before, so naturally when I saw what appeared to be an African American man's arm swinging at the belly of the horse, I naturally thought that someone was riding side saddle, trying to steal the equine right under our noses.
Imagine my surprise, to rush outside, only to be faced with a two foot long painted horse penis. I think that horse is using his own "lariat" to get around those barrels so fast.

Having spent my evening in Greece chewing the cud with my Greek and Spanish employees I find their moaning about how they are having to pay to build up poland rather amusing. Lets see how Spain likes it now it is set to become a net contributor.
The Greeks I know are fairly benevolant towards the EU still, but then they belong to one of the few member states whos own national government is even more corrupt than the EU. Elections are tomorrow, total apathy among all the people here that I know.

I think its neat that a Pole can claim child benefit for his family back in Poland.
What annoyed me about the sudden influx of workers from the East was for years people from various crown dependencies, soldiers from Commonwealth countries (and Gurkhas) were denied settlement rights yet their numbers nowhere near approached 50k let alone 600k (and counting).
I could go on and on about this but just don't feel like it.......

Symbolism over violent representation, it's much more effective - what I was talking about. A symbol is more symbolic than an actual gun as a symbol.
The OLF is not using their tree in a symbolic way per say. They are only referencing the tree on the offficial flag of Oromia. As to the Oromian flag...I can not say but again I doubt it to be symbolic and probbaly more representational of a region known for a specific type of tree such as:
Lebanon. The Cedar in has been associated with Lebanon since ancient times when it was mentioned extensively in the bible. The cedar of lebanon has always been the symbol of that nation and has figured prominently in the design of all Lebanese flags historically.

It isn't intellectually fashionable to support Israel these days; the new fashion is Islam. If you study history you will see over and over again the cycle of the (supposed) oppressed gaining power and then in turn becoming the oppressors. Look at Zimbabwe............
But as I have said here before Israel is the largest economy in the Middle East and has know oil and it is the only democracy. And it should be noted that when Palestinian/Israeli peace deals collapse it is always the Palestinian side that causes the fracture.

When I was in high school, a friend of mine's older sister was dating a woman who used to be in the Mossad.
Yes, they were lesbians.
One time she beat him up when he made an off-color joke in her presence.
Yes, my friend was a skinny 16 year old geek who made a bigoted joke in the presence of a fit late 20-something Israeli lesbian who spent time in the military. The ensuing fight went about as well for him as you can imagine. What was kind of disturbing about it was the fact that she really seemed to enjoy hurting him, and she did this in front of me and his older sister.
Another time, I walked into the bathroom when she was dying her hair and she totally flipped out on me.
The door was slightly open when I walked in. She wasn't indecently dressed or anything. But she felt she looked undignified, and yelled at me for "barging in". I'm pretty sure she would have thrown something at me if I didn't run for it.
