I noticed amongst some INTP people i know that they all have a distinct and actually very good sense of style and design. If not being overly creative they all have in common being of good taste.
I wonder if this is true in general, or because our tastes coincide?

I like to clash a little bit...ANYONE can be color coordinated.

It's more than simple color orientation. It is percieving color, shape, sound, smell and everything else.
I believe that INTPs are actually trendsetters.
I often found myself reading and praising a book yet to become a bestseller, and listening to music yet to become popular.

yes i find i'm quite attracted to a sort of 'sophisticated elegance' in everything i do, perceive, listen to, and wear.

some intps, however i find, are prone to be overrun by their laziness and present themselves overly sloppy (wearing plain jeans etc. and doing unsettling things such as 'burp' in public or whatever) though this may be just my individualistically elitist side authoritating

There is a distinctive difference between what you wear and what you that looks good on you. I prefer comfortable clothing over fashionable one, but i still very much see the difference.

In music and in rhythm of poetry I have an exacting sense of style. Style not necessarily in an aesthetic sense.

In visual arts....not so much.

i(ok maybe some people already had done this somewhere else in the world)invented a "fingelet", which is basically a string bracelet of strings braided in patterns that i wrapped on my last three fingers instead of my arm. for a project in school where we had to make a shirt about some element years ago, i actually got voted "most creative"...actually it should have been "most bored" but...

i tend to agree. I have been commented by many for my original/elegant style in looks and trends, but I tend to be quite humble about it, as pretty much most INTPs would be I garther. Its an interesting theory to say that many trend setters are INTPs, Inntuitivly and as non-biastly as possible, I would tend for there is a strong correlation as comparted to other personalities.

It is weird I never would have dared say this out loud, but i agree! I have often found myself with clothes or a haircut or whatever a year or so ahead of everyone. I really have no idea how, it is a shame I can't somehow make money with it...:(

i agree it's totally possible to to be stylish and comfortable. When I say stylish i don't mean right of the runway of milan, i mean knowing what goes with what and being atleast a bit noticably more individualistic than the 'norm' (of course we need to materialistically separate ourselves from the rabble....)

Its a bit difficult to see that we have superior taste (no, i don't think that tastes are not arguable) because our style does not usually coincide with most popular trends. We also tend to be a bit in front of our time.

Yes, I think so too. I don't think I dress stylishly, but people often comment on what I wear because it is different? Nothing outlandish, but unusual color matches, shoes untied, a constant look of being comfortable.

Apart from style and fashion though, I have found that INTPs I've known have a very similar taste. If he hasn't heard the song that I'm talking about, he's always interested in it. We're good at sharing our "discoveries" in art with other INTPs, but I haven't had much luck actually setting trends in that department.

Now, wearing flip-flops year-round actually rubbed off on a few people I know who used to tease me about it.

Yes, I have excellent taste. I get comments on my couch all the time.
