This post is the course of action.
I believe we would have great use for a pooling of our knowlege. Anyone reading the careers thread knows one of our great plights.
What I propose is that we create a structure in which one can research information on careers from the essential INTP point of view.
Follows an outline.
We could create a special forum section with specific criteria for discussion. (Also with tighter rules for staying on topic http://forums.intpcentral.com/images/smilies/wink.gif ) From this thread people submit careers they have tried with specific vital information such as Pay range/stablity/hours/stress along with their personal experiance noting the pro AND the con. The careers that are selected from this thread taken and written into a page/paragraph of information noteing why or why not it might be good for an INTP with a summary at the top including fields such as Pay/hours. Then this (unfinished) career information would be shown in a thread created specificly for it where people could discuss corrections and improvments. After this it would be taken and given it's own page with a link to it on a page that brings all the careers together for easy browsing. Another feature it could include would be links to personal experiances of the career written by people who submit them specificly for this purpose. Perhaps even a 1-10 rating with a system averaging the ratings out of all the personal experiences.
This is only one facet of what we could accomplish. That is unless every one is content on going from unenjoyable job to unenjoyable job.
I truly believe this could work, and would be to great benifit.
