' Cause thus so far I have been the idiot, unable to log on, and it hasn't been very friendly (despite my flirting, I even bought it a drink!).
Really now, it doesn't really have a very central place here anyway, I guess may of the thread are just slow moving chat.

Gee! Helios! Then you'd better not find out how to log in! 8O Are you ready to die?
Oh, yeah, but there isn't a God? Wait....no....there isn't an alogical explination for the existance of God.
No...wait...God is alogical. Gee! He must not be an INTP!!!
And since LOGIC is GOD!! For an INTP.
I Therefore, and Henceforth must induce that, INTPs are GREATER THAN GOD!!!!

I have tried more than twice to get in, and I always get some crap about securityexception or Nullpointer, FC gave me some stuff to download, but my 20th century wits seem unable to make much progress, hence my appeal for help, even if this is impossible I guess it was a worthwhile post since it raised awareness about chat for those more clever than I.

What a succint summary of the religious INTPCentral arguments. And so accurate too.

and i love the accuracy of that post we are greater than god. but that is because INTP people are gods agents, incarnations if you will.
god is the universe, the universe is god. god is not god and the universe because that would create an entity larger than god, namely god and the universe.
hence as gods incarnations we are superior beings designed by nature (god) to stand apart and understand that which others (god, incl.) can not

Dear Creative Chaos,
Please don't forget that this forum is primerly, mainly dedicated to Intps who are not so emotinal than ??F? people and at least theoretically Intps are not so against logic and rationalism. Feelings are Ok because we are also people we can not say we have none. It is more possible that the most of us do Not express it in every minute and usually(at least I can say it for me)Not in an overwhelming stile. So no anger, but please Keep in mind that not everybody likes to show his/her feeling.
Sincerely yours: Tlalocone:smooch:
P.S.:Feeling people are good and allright people, so you may be gorgious but I am one of the Intp people who allmost always avatars his/her(mainly his) feeling although he/she Do has this 'item' called feeling.http://www.zparadise.com/bigheart/bhworld/column/img/bh%20image.jpg ....whatever....but I Am Not your 'enemy'.........

Heh! I see you're new here. Don't worry Tlalcocone, I have been duly forewarned before. And "This is an INTP site" has been hotly discussed. That's why I sure, unless I'm invited, I will NOT get into the chat area. Just picking on people. BUTTTTTT!!!!!!!?!?!?!?!
so you may be gorgious but Gee! Really, you think so???? Thankie :D
(aside note, if you don't want this crap just ignore me, I generally only respond to those who are responding to me. Hee! :D)

Stop being bitter ShaiGar, you're welcome now aren't you ;)?
INTP Chat is seperate but associated with the forums, and is IRC based. I'll look into the applet, my hiatus from this forum (as you may have noticed) is over, so I can get it fixed or whatever else. Probably hook of CGI::IRC as well...

Maybe one of you guys could help me with a little problem I've been having with IRC. This past semester, my college has gotten paranoid about network security. They've always made us download anti-virus software, but it was free so I don't mind that too much. However, this time the anti-virus software also includes a small edition which blocks certain ports, some of them being the most common IRC ones (i.e. 6666-6669). Now I can edit these, but only in the short term since the program auto-updates itself about every hour or so and all preferences are reset. Oh, I am required to run thier anti-virus or I can't use the school network which would leave me with no internet at all. Anyone have some suggestions on how I could trick it to make the changes permenant?

Well, the obvious solution is to call up the network admins and ask them to allow IRC on campus. Explain to them what it is, and that it uses very little resources, that it can be educational, that you are paying their salaries, etc etc.
Failing that you can ask the IRC admins to configure the server to listen on a nonstandard port, in addition to the usual ones. Depending on what other services the IRC server provides, of course. Good choices would be the IMAP, POP3, http, https, ssh, ftp or telnet ports. Surely your campus allows outgoing connections to at least one of those services.
Failing -that-, get yourself a unix shell account and run your IRC client from it.

Yeah, it would just provide an alternate interface to it for those that aren't familiar with IRC software.
